40% after 18 months you fking rookie hahahaha... I smoke you on track & in the market in my dog RS
30 trackdays part timer! ! !
Dude you don't smoke a 991 GT3 in a 996/7, you get run circles around, it's so much more capable. It's a diff ballgame, 3 steps up from previous GT3/RS'. 30 trackdays part timer! ! !
Did 100 laps last week on Spa my home pitch and badly smoked everything on a premium RSR day, was shocking how good the car is. Honestly thought I would park it up after 5 laps bored with electronics and PDK, but it's very direct and lively driven on the limit. And can be driven blistering quick. You stand zero chance, 991 is completely out of sight within a lap... Had doubts over the 991RS but now so excited I am getting one autumn.

so going by your rationale a 991 will smoke your 996 up the runway then?Did 100 laps last week on Spa my home pitch and badly smoked everything on a premium RSR day, was shocking how good the car is. thought you were a Dane living in NL?
I'm not local to Spa but i do have 1000's of laps of experience...
what laptimes were you doing in the 991 rental?
how much quicker round Spa do you think a 991 Cup is over a 997 Cup?
I'll stick with the RS I've already got.
i have no axe to grind and currently run cars from '65 through 964RS CS to latest 991GT3. I have had most GT3 and RSs including 4.0L. All lovely with their own characters. Can't see what all the ... my bo**ocks are bigger than yours postings are about... chill and let live. I did think that the 3.8RS was a high watermark, even when compared with the 4.0L, but.....
For a stock car the GT3 is simply AMAZING!
Pricing issues... well let's wait and see. Too many have come back on panicked by the forthcoming RS and wanting to slip in quick before the price fades. I think that when the RS lands and the premiums are very high (bound to happen in my opinion) the prices will level out, but probably still around £150k plus. Could be higher... it just depends on sooo many factors....election etc for instance?
In the meantime.. just get out there and drive and don't look over your shoulder too much or you might just let the 991 GT3 pass you.

Lol, the OPC staff yes, I was on about the general populace, but have to be careful as most of my mates live there!
This ^. The staff at both Solihull and sutton Coldfield are excellent, it the general populace who constantly wear an expression similar to that experienced when having smelt something disagreeable......keep it lit said:

Straight line wasn't that diff with 997, less than I would have thought. PAX lap times was 2.42 & single 2.40, car was on steel brakes that weren't great. Think with fresh brakes and tires you will see a fairly easy 2.38 without upgrading brakes and susp. Not saying one is better than the other, I am myself more into classic and analogue, only stating 991 is a big step up from current crop of of GT3's. thought you were a Dane living in NL?

My 996 I don't drive on track, its way too fast and scare others between corners, then a corner comes up and I can move over
Not sure how quick a Cup 997 is but I can tell you one of our chaps did 2.22 in his 2015 Cup 991... Some years ago I drove a 2008 Cup round Spa, no serious timing just playing round, it was defo fast but I did not do sub 2.30 from my memory. In all fairness slicks is diff and I am no expert, so might be I was way off the pace.

dude.. you sure about that 2:22 time around Spa?? Earl Bamber winner of the 2014 SuperCup race at Spa posted 2:23.6 in his 991 Cup which was the fastest lap of the race...
also your playing around time of 2:30 (ish) in an 08 (3.6) 997 Cup would have put you on the front of the grid in our GT-Cup race some years ago.

As I said I didn't time the Cup 997 play around, drove it as fast as my capabilities allows and from top of my head it was 2.30+. could be 2.35+, didn't time it.
That said though, anyone who knows their way round Spa and willing to drive a standard 991 GT3 on the limit will easily wipe out a standard 996/997 GT3/RS... It doesn't mean its better or more rewarding, its just a big big step up. I was surprised I liked it, but I did and now cant wait to get my RS. Still I wouldn't wanna be without analogue, I will keep my older manual cars and enjoy them for their diff.
