Think he means easy to drive fast - PDK, RWS, Electronics galore, engine more towards the middle - 4 wd next, the Audi'd Porsche coming soon.;)

Nothing wrong with that, that's progress, every new 911 has been "better" than the previous one

It is also about weight - the 73RS, in my opinion probably the best 911 to drive & savour, only had 210ps but was under 1100 kgs. Even at a modest 50mph, the 911RS is fun, the 991 GT3 is not.

And I expect the average 991 GT3 owner is probably older than with the prior versions.
confused

I haven't driven a 73 RS......so wouldn't know if it was 'fun'.

Have you driven a 991 GT3?.........

I find my 991 GT3 very engaging at "normal" speeds. Very responsive and fun on English B roads at manageable speeds. I feel it alive, noisy and nervous. Exactly as I would want her to be.

Not sure I would prefer it in a 997 RS. But each to their own of course. But I can understand the appeal of the 991 as its a pretty decently rounded package with savage performance, track ability and capable to engage on the normal drive.

Only major complaint I have is sound at low revs which is just too tame.
Agree with this and that too was my only frustration - seriously , put in a SharkWerks BP , transforms the sound for about £ 1500 - it makes the car sound monsterious smile

I drove my GT3 to Cambridge from west London this week
M25 and M11 - can't go that fast as there are these new cameras I am told etc et
So steady speeds all the way
But despite that I am not using the car to anywhere near its full potential I still smile all the way
I park at South Mimms services for a coffee and walking back to the car I start smiling again
And I say to myself how lucky am I ! I don't want a Ferrari or a Lambo
Even at £180k I am not sure I would sell
What else is there ?
For me this is the defining point about the price rise - there is still nothing else that competes with the car - and until they x over to 458 Speciale / Spyder values I can't see anyone selling as there is nowhere to go - imagine how frustrating it would be to sell at say £K 150 and buy , for example , a new C2S / GTS and pocket , say £K 30 - every time you got into the car you would be reminded how much better the GT3 was. Now , don't get me wrong , £K 30 is a lot of money and it would be very rare to make money on a car - I certainly always do the opposite very efficiently , but unless you need the cash for something else - why swap out of a car that will hold its value into one that will shed the £K 30 that you initially made in a couple of years (maybe 3) As such , why bother - I was offered £K 150 for mine last week , politely said no thank you.

^ And this is the main reason why most of my 991 GT3 customers buy the Sharkwerks exhaust upgrade! More emotion at 'normal' driving speeds...

That's my point, you have to take a (360d) view to this car, the list price went out of the window a long time ago. Just what else is there.

How times change, I had the call a year ago today," do not drive" who would have thought that this time last year, and today........lol

As long as ferrari keeps pumping out these little beauties, I will shrug my shoulders and say there is one born every minute.

I am off to put another pound in the biggy bank, only 160 thousand to go.

Out of interest what car/cars you driving now?
You seem to have a lot to say about everybody's choice of cars but not comment on your choice and why?

Slowest Cayman too fast for roads in Europe? Now I really cannot take you seriously - why don't we all buy Skoda RS that is just as fast and cheaper and has RS in the name and also is manual!!
