As a guide, and roughly at the same money, obtain a trade bid on say a 2013 458 Italia and a 2014 model. Big difference.......and as you know, their production numbers were far greater.......yes
Exactly so no comparison possible.

The example i gave was of a car in production for just one year in total that is loved by all and supplied in low low numbers just like the 2014 991 GT3.
A later car is still a 2014 car that was just delivered in 2015 and a such the values are identical in the same way a December registered 2013 991 GT3 is to a 2014 registered car.
They are all the same.
Disagree. Even on desirable low production run cars such as this the value is influenced to a large degree by the date of registration NOT date of manufacture further accentuated in the case of the GT3 by a beneficial change to the spec ( for MY 2015 with the sport chrono).

So what you are saying is that an average mileage (for year)13 63 plate has an identical value to a 15 15 plate of identical spec...i.e Mr Potential Purchaser of a GT3 would pay the same money for both vehicles........scratchchin

If that was the case I will throw away my Glasses guide and Cap book now lol......hehe

Funny. 2014 replaced engine car owner insists there are no difference in values. Factory fitted engine later car owner insists it's more valuable. Self interest speaking there perhaps on both sides anyone...?

Of course self preservation and all that stuff, would you pay more for a factory fit engine?

I would try to find a factory fitted one if I was in the market and like for like I would pay more for it - it is not like they are so rare that there is no choice.

Would agree with that. First choice would always be the original engine car and unless there is a significant difference in premium, would be happy to pay more as well.

So there's going to be a press release next week confirming there'll be no 991.2 GT3, then?

But seriously Apolo, do please explain why the 991RS is the last in the line. Love to hear your view.

IMHO this is an example of the kind of pointless thread that has been appearing on PH in recent times. Before that the posters were enthusiasts not speculators or dreamers.

Fair point. It is winter mind and you are not likely to be getting inundated with Stelvio via B500 euro trip videos. We are also on the cusp of the new all singing all dancing RS being born. There is also no getting away from the fact that these special Porsches are to some degree special due to the financial security they provide as well as the un-paralleled performance.
There is no bigger PH than me; I have spent my whole life either on trackdays or building track cars in my garage so please don't assume someone cannot be an enthusiast just because they have questions about how to best approach an opportunity. The good thing with Porsche currently, is you are able to benefit from the fantastic driving experience combined with not losing crazy money to fund your passion (unlike some of the cars I have had in the past).
If you consider the thread pointless it is your choice not to read or post. It is fairly obvious from the title that it is probably of no interest to you, judging by your post. TBH value threads don't float my boat in the slightest. I am however in a position of having the possibility of getting an allocation but due to not being interested in the whole auto thing don't want the car. This led me consider my options and hence open the debate here to a wider audience of guys who have far more experience in this area than I do.

In all likelihood, genuine enthusiasts don't stand a chance of getting a car in the first place. Porsche seem to be going down the Ferrari 'invited VIP only' road, rather than letting the likes of you and I getting involved in such a car.
Why say you're not going to get an allocation when yesterday you said you were, and that you were going to sell it... and now you're talking up the price...
