You could VERY easily spend upwards of 20k on that car just getting it sorted mechanically and fit for the road. Lots can deteriorate and perish in the 8 years it has been standing and maybe had already. Then there is a whole list of upgrades you may want to do to the car after that not to mention interior.

BUT once its all done you'll have a very sorted car and you'd have had the benefit of doing it stage by stage and to your spec if you elect to modify.

964's are knows as 'project' cars as they need regular maintenance but look at the online groups that love these cars.

Forget the cost and all this horsest about values and a new owner can go out and enjoy driving his 'new' 964

Need to look out the box

This will be pulled apart and retro converted then sold on. Sold on for 60k plus. Hence the massive lift in anything pre 993 in the last three years.

It ain't so much the cars as they stand, more what they can be turned into.

Thank you Tony Hatter for the 993 shape. We may just not lose the 993 to the retro brigade. Will not lift values as much, but at least the model has more chance of survival.

Apparently anyone thinking of buying it couldn't view it either. Which makes it all sound a bit fishy to me. scratchchin

I can't help asking whether i'd want a couple of 996's or this 964 in need of recommissioning / restoring. Maybe you could have four 996's once you've paid for the 964 to work again.

Only 18 months ago, total911 was comparing a 964 against a 996, both costing about £15k.
