Despite handing over my deposit in October 2013 at the OPC Wales and being told regularly that I was number one, I have today been informed that I am fifth on the list and will therefore not be receiving my promised car.

Cant help but feel a little cheated to say the least.

Looking now to purchase a build slot from anyone looking to sell at a premium.
Wow!

They took your deposit 16 months ago and shaft you now!?

I would be livid!

This is just the tip of the iceberg...

Porsche GB need to take control of this entire process just like Apple had to step in to improve conditions at their suppliers in China. If they let this OPC sales behaviour continue they will lose customers and reputation.

Though I guess one could easily argue Porsche GB is 'too big' to fail.

Perhaps we need to start a UK Action Group of misled and mistreated customers.

I'm in. I have already passed my case to a local lawyer who is looking at all of the documents and emails. I have contacted trading standards as well as the FCA. All WIP.

Did the dealers promise you would get a car, or did they just accept an LOI or deposit that you wanted to submit?

Hang on, its one thing getting annoyed with the process and another thing entirely to take legal action!

Did you have any sort of contract with the dealer or was it simply a nod and a wink? When you gave them the deposit, did you get anything is writing?

I had the lot, LOI, deposit paid, Comms number, invite to Geneva confirmed by email Porsche Hospitality, build slot number shown to me and confirmed on the Porsche order system which was first entered by my OPC, emails confirming order accepted etc etc.
Then a phone call one week later saying sorry, we have had to give your slot to someone else, invite to Geneva retracted, told may get a car in 2016 batch two but unlikely as bumped down to 9th.
I believe I have a case for breach of contract, lawyers reviewing as is Trading Standards. It's either this or just bend over and take it from Porsche, I don't like bending over,

Yes, exactly that. It's a shoddy way to do business, and totally unethical. I still cannot believe Porsche and or my OPC believe this is acceptable and that no one will take it further, just take your medicine and pipe down is what I get from some others on this forum. Perhaps I should, but I just cannot stomach the treatment I have received without doing something about it.

Yes, I signed it at the dealership. This is when I was given the build slot number.

In that case, they have a case to answer! Good luck, I truly hope it ends in your favour.

There is another guy I know taking legal action, he bought a Cayman R from an OPC 5 months ago that he did not want, purely on the basis that he was promised a GT4 slot if he did, they has just stung him as well. You could not make it up.

If above is true this is totally unfair and very unprofessional of the OPC. Let's hope the poor chap had something in writing.

I was told a long time ago that all the 918 owners (or prospective at that time) were first in line for the RS's, and there was no point on getting any hope of getting into one 'first owner'. Maybe available on the premium market!
next new car for me will be the 488.........

Can't listen to this rubbish any longer!

I have dealt with Cardiff (Wales) OPC for many many years and they have always acted in a most decent and honest manner. I know who is on the list for the RS cars, and whilst it is a list of usual candidates (me included) they are there because they have supported the dealership and bought many GT, RS and other products over the years. They also would have had their names on the list for many years, never mind 18 months!

This really is terrible service from the OPC. Do you think it would've made a difference if you had put a 100k down as opposed to lesser amount? Do you guys honestly think some dealers are getting a few quid in the back pocket in exchange for cars?

All customers should be treated with respect. You never how much business a customer could bring in the future.

Funny how service from dealers like Bentley and Bugatti can be so much better regardless of how much you spend with them.

They have been doing this forever, nothing new.
I still have some copies of letters over a 993rs cs,one was paid deposit, contract etc, porsche said only 6 rhd coming in,he threw his toys out, went legal and won.Porsche had two build the 7th!!!
Also my 4.0 ltr, porsche informed opc that a certain local journalist we all know has to have it not me,and i am a good customer.
You have good grounds to get one if you have a contract, deposit, confirmation etc,go for it.
I am waiting for the manual version with 550 bhp in 2016,rather than a automatic.smile
