this car just looks amazing, the tech is cool and can we talk about performance !!

0-124mph in 7.9 seconds !
541bhp/ton

weight is down A LOT , it does seem the ultimate Super Series sports car.

Never been a fan of the McLaren, always been a bit soft, but the 675LT seems a mega thing.

that's 100k cheaper than the GT3 RS 4.0 for sale or £250k cheaper than the 964 Turbo S

so seems cheap :-)

thought it was about 300k or very close with the right bits,? I agree the nos look impressive, but its not all about the speed, or we would all be in 800BHP GTRs, for me this car has to have fun, and interaction above the 12c and 650s.

Also I would have like to have seen more use of CF for this price, the above is 50k above a well spec Spz, in relation to the RS, well we are at the buy one get one free stage....

For that sort of money I'd want something that looks a bit less "kit car" from the rear.....

Strange colour for the show.

Looks like it will be a beast though.

I don't think the showcar's colour is helping it but I agree I think this is mega and for me is probably the star of the show (aswell as the Aston Martin Vulcan!).

Would look better in a nice bluey silver...or just Blue.

wink

I completely agree. Star of Geneva for me.

The 650s was an improvement but with the extra body length, the vastly more muscular sides/shoulders (which always looked too lean and feminine on both 12c and 650s), the aggressive behind etc. this new LT is the first Mac to really nail it and looks sensational to my eyes. One of the best looking cars i've seen for a long time and I love this Chican grey as well. Front, back, sides ... all look stunning.

From the pics and vids, i'm feeling more want than anything other launches incl. RS, 488, Regera, R8 etc. I think my 2016 plans for a used speciale have now shifted onto one of these. Let's hope they plummet like the proverbial lead balloon !

I'd have a 7 4.0 GT3 RS over it in a heart beat. I'd also have the new RS over it..

In fact I'd even have a GT2 RS over it lol

Got to get 911s out of me. I'm possessed!!!!!!

That's a bullst stat as its one in fifty runs in perfect conditions. I bet a mildly tuned 997 turbo PDK would monster it over 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile on any given day!

Yep, and my grandads 'tuned' lawnmower with a Rolls Royce Trent 900 strapped to it would be halfway into China before the 997 Turbo had even left the line.

you do, because it seemed to annoy you that the 675LT is obviously a very quick car and quicker than your tuned 997

could be wrong though ?

One would hope so, I'd have to single out the exhausts (and their surrounds) as the least cohesive part of the rear aspect.

But at least I can see where the boys at McLaren drew their inspiration from now.....

biggrin

Anyone care to guess how many more updates/facelifts there'll be over the next 18 months - 2 years ?

£300+k with the visible cf. I got to £290k with only one piece of cf (rear bumper) but admittedly some unnecessarily fancy paint.. the car looks much better in the metal IMO but needs a dark colour to show itself properly, ideally black.

The best thing about the car is going to be the weight. Mclaren so far have been spot on with their factory weights unlike Porsche/Ferrari and even adding back the weight of the front lift (absolute must) and aircon it's likely to weigh in fully fueled at probably ~1350kg. That's going to be almost 150kg lighter than most real world fully fueled Speciales and likely the 991 RS is going to weigh in actual weight at near ~1475kg as well.
