Yep conclusions as you'd expect .......P1 wilder, more thrilling, more accelerative and looks a lot better too.

It's a shame those race tracks have corners and not just straights!!

Its a shame that being a petrolhead is now all about laptimes.

That's not what I said.

Is being a petrolhead about straight line acceleration?

Well, sounds like the P1 is more fun. Who wants a sensible hypercar? It also looks way better in my eyes.

Purely on the looks. The P1 is hideous! Spectacular perhaps but far far too busy stylistically, twists turns and holes everywhere. Horrible. Sorry, just my view. the Porsche is the looker of the bunch, the Ferrari is the usual modern Ferrari ie form following 'F1' function with mostly awful results.

Until, after about 10 minutes of full power use, the P1's batteries go flat....the 918 and LaF then march by....

yeah...P1 is just not quite all that...does not move game on emphatically as the F1 did...

ironic that the P1 loses the gig in the corners...seems the McLaren F1 team has had that issue for a couple of years now.

Makes sense that Porsche is the only one open to comparisons and also the only one who published a 'ring time.

To be fair, I think Ferrari should receive a lot more flack than it does for constantly refusing people to do anything remotely resembling fun in their cars.

That 918 is indeed a very special machine and looks even better in the flesh... I was at Spa and had a chat with the owner a top bloke who was really kind to take the time to answer the ton of questions everyone was asking!!
Was a lot of top cars there and a really nice bunch of lads from PGT all getting their cars out with it slashing down!!!

I'd heard the owner of the 918, the nutter, picked it up brand new and took it straight to Spa! winkwavey

I'm kicking myself actually as I had a friend there that weekend in a blue 964 C4 and he had invited me to book a space and join him in my Caterham. Work prevented that sadly. I can only imagine how cool it would have been for the Caterham driver on the Kimmel straight having the Laf and 918 blasting past!!

clap

These cars move in whole new performance window.......like nothing before, don't forget that the temp was low, sure GT3 owner's know what MPSC2s are like in below 8d., also think I am right in saying that you can only overtake with the consent of the car in front..

Very impressive driving, best track vid for a long time....
