None of us seem to be able to come up with a popular suggestion for a 'replacement' so maybe they should try a completely new format with varying contributions from a number of different personalities without any actual replacement. Touring cars has produced plenty of blokes with 'personality' who are ready to drive any vehicle to the limit - I'm sure they could find some candidates from that background. OK - so everyone would have a moan about it (which is going to happen regardless of what the TG team come up with) - but we wouldn't be able to resist watching anyway - would we?

I see Hammond is in trouble again - shot a peacock (was supposed to be shooting pheasant) on a neighbouring estate apparently. It wasn't my father's estate - he does live within a couple of miles but he does't have an estate (I think his last one was a Volvo). My boss has an estate - with pheasants - no peacocks though. My first mother-in-law had peacocks. I like peacocks but they are bloody noisy things. Perhaps he shot it deliberately and it wasn't an embarrassing accident as described! We met Hammond at a party once - I felt quite sorry for him 'cos Rob (with a couple of beers on board) decided to berate him about what they did to that poor Hilux (the one they tried to kill). Rob loves his Hilux!

Don't you love it when you get a woman's perspective on things bowtie
Majorly off topic but where do you live? I am from Ross and know Bolitree well.

Replace all three with:

Monkey Harris
Jethro Bovingdon
Chris Evans

Revitalise the show.

Jay Leno. He is a car nut and might do a couple of episodes for fun. I imagine he could even supply the cars.......

Having established the answer to that off-forum thats another case of PHSWS (PistonHeads small world syndrome)

Anyone know if Hammond still has his 991 GT3?

Rowan Atkinson!

Surely a better actor, driver and entertainer than JC. Surprised, no one suggested him?

JC is attempting acting (a bad one at that) when he's being the clumsy ape on TG.
No match for Mr Bean IMHO. smile

I suspect it's not an act, my guess is he's a completely inept, sausage fingered half wit , but clearly knows how to write and play to his strengths in front of a camera, and for that he's to be congratulated.

I take it you didn't see the piece he did with Jodie Kidd on this weeks Classic Car Show ? An individual more ill at ease in front of camera I cannot imagine.

Plato could do it, he thinks a lot of himself, is at ease in front of a camera, can actually drive and could rip the p*ss out of May and Hammond mercilessly. He'd have to slot filming in around his racing activities, and if what's been said on PH is true, he'd have to give up some other rather expensive pastimes too....... biggrin

As for Mr Leno, absolutely not, he knows stuff about cars, but he's a Yank for goodness sake shoot

I've seen lots of people on Facebook suggesting Guy Martin. I can see how that would work.
+1

Has the personality, but not sure how he'd cope in a live show format?

I agree the format was getting tired anyway. I actually stopped watching about 2 years ago, it was becoming less about the cars and more about those middle-aged clowns trying to be ever more outrageous. It got stale years ago!

Y'think ????? Personally I'd rather have my scrotum nailed to a bench top with a rusty croquet hoop than have to spend Sunday evening watching CH.

Likewise Chris Evans.

Seems to fit your criteria : smile
