I've been as high as nine points in the past, although I've lost count of my insurance no claims as it's 10+ years. Clearly there is a correlation between breaking speeds dipslayed on little boards and having accidents.

None at present, but have had 6 at once, and over the last 11 years have had 15 in total (5 lots of 3).
3 points for overtaking on a double white line, the rest for speeding.

I have 9 years of no claims for 11 years of driving because a few times i cancelled a policy before the full year (uncompetitive quote on new car).

Daz, yeah, i see the speed/accident correlation too.

I've got three from July 2002. They drop off my licence for totting up in August 05. Although I can't get my licence "cleaned" for another year to August 06 and even then I won't bother as I need to remember the data until August 07 for insurance purposes.

After that I might get my licence re-printed - but only if I need to for some other reason.

3 points M5 2am in morning driving back from cornwall. july 2000

Annoyingly I spotted a suspicious car join the motorway and slowed to 70 MPH. the car joined with another at exactly the same time. They both sped up to me and then held station behind me for quite a long distance which was supsicous.

One car behind me A vauxhall with blueish head lights and a golf of some kind in the middle lane.I was convinced it was a copper and thats why teh golf didnt overtake.

Then the golf shot off(GTI) so I assumed it wasnt a cop cos he would have had the golf so I increased speed to 90

Blue lights came on. the day after the papers were full of some politician getting off for doing higher speeds in
rush hour trafic.
I was doing around 1.4 leptons before so not too bad a result

Have you been nabbed of late, chief?

Miraculously, only six points over here, achieved within days of each other, a good few years ago.

I won't discuss the current state of my licence for fear of tempting something inconvenient and predominantly green of political castigation.

OK Johnny - we'll see how long that lasts once you've got "the beast" on the road!

Had up to 9 points in the UK for a couple of weeks - I used to accept 3 points every couple of years as an inevitable result of my speeding habits. UK licence is now clean. French licence also clean, though I did have a 3 month ban + points for speeding 5 years ago.

Full NCB - the last accident I had that was my fault dates back to over 20 years ago....

8 points.

5 I can't argue with. One of those pesky 996s that make 324mph seem like 45. 'Averaged' at 100, after two footed braking at 130. Empty dual carriageway (apart from the white van in the layby) in the middle of a glorious summer day and all that, but I've got no complaints.

However, the other 3 were picked up on an empty dual carriageway in north wales that was apparently in the midst of a "Temporary traffic calming measure".

I was chugging along at about 50 when I saw the van, I looked at my speedo and didn't even bother to brake. I hadn't seen the 40 signs, but 'common sense' told me that I couldn't possibly be doing anything illegal.

To get even I did 110mph in a 40 in my Porsche that I know the Babylon don't bother to cash generate on. Rediculous, pathetic, juvenile, reprehensible, revenge. Before I get loads of abuse it was an industrial area on a sunday with no humans around. In my warped mind that's where I got the points, and I did well to only get 3!

Worst points I ever witnessed were the 3 my missus picked up on the A43 through Northamptonshire. We were going away for the weekend, she was driving like a nun, just keeping up with traffic, neither of us saw the speed trap, but weren't particularly looking.

45mph in a 40 (country A road). Disgraceful.

I have been caught speeding 3 times since June 2004.

In fact I got caught twice in 10 days in June.

36 in a 30
90 in a 70 and more recently
37 in a 30

...but I only have 3 points

Actually, I'll expand a bit and try to show that I'm no angel.

In 2003 I was stopped 4 times by the police. 3 of those were for speeding, once was for jumping a red light. However, I talked my way out of it each time. Basically I kissed arse. It didn't do me any harm to use the "I'm a doctor doing urgent home visits to dying children etc etc" even though I was probably just on my way to KFC.
