3 points - just missed another 3 as I was caught doing 36 in a 30 but opted to attend a safespeed course intead. Not that bad actually, except, as I discovered on Saturday, I mistakenly threw away my licence when I discarded the pack of rather patronising info they furnished us with on the course, immediately I got home.

This small fit of pique neary spoiled my day at Silverstone on Sunday!

In 2003 I was stopped 4 times by the police. 3 of those were for speeding, once was for jumping a red light. However, I talked my way out of it each time. Basically I kissed arse. It didn't do me any harm to use the "I'm a doctor doing urgent home visits to dying children etc etc" even though I was probably just on my way to KFC.

Bet you had them blubbing with a good tearjerker aswell you creep! Couldn't you get one of those green lights you can stick on the roof for hooning purposes?

Damn I'm jealous that I'll never have a nice "respected job" excuse to get me out of this sort of trouble!

well im waiting to see.i was driving along the m6 on friday and the roads had little traffic but just as i came over a hill i spotted a van on a bridge (not a white one either)so i take my foot of the accelerator and a few seconds later look at the speedo which read 82 so im guessing i was doing more like 92.it really p***** me off as it was in such a 'no point having it there'place other than to make money!!

94 or below and you should be OK with an offer of 3 points and some tax.

I`ve owned and driven Porsches for nine years and been lucky not to get any speeding tickets in them (touches wood)

However, in the same period I`ve been caught twice in my other boring motors!

Currently clean and fingers crossed...

wasnt until two weeks after I'd bought the cab that I realised there was nowhere to put one!

Wonder how the BIBs would react to that - a "doctor on emergency call" light stuck on the roof of a black porsche sounding like an approaching thunderstorm - with some disbelief I suspect!

"I felt that it was my professional duty to get a really fast car so that I could get to the poorly orphans quicker ossifer, blub, blub..." allied with discreet use of an onion might just do the trick Johnny!

You spawny git.

Ouch!!! Surprised that it was only 28 days! Did they physically catch you or was it a Gatso jobbie?

96 MPH on a dual carriageway on a bike, Court apperance with a Solicitor resulted in a £400.00 fine with 6 points. With the legal fees it ended up costing about £700.00.
Worst part was standing up in court and feeling like I've just mugged an old dear, they make you feel like shit.

what happens when you do reach 12 points?

Normally a 6 month ban unless you can can put forward exceptional circumstances such as a 6 month ban leading to loss of job/income/home etc. It's not unknown for sales reps to still be driving on 12 points but don't depend on being able to get away with it.

Sounds like a dire transgression until you consider some of the finer stretches of tarmac in existence where speeds of this variety can be perfectly on the menu (with a sprinkling of parmesan.)

I've been banned twice in the past for speeding and just got off doing 86 in a 30 limit in December. I also have 9 years no claim......If you get 12 points, then you need a very good barrister

Hi again people.

Zero points in 30 years driving. (Don't you just hate smart arses?)

Mind you, it's ONLY as I sold the 911 when I moved back to England!

Top Tip. If you are on 9 points, buy a house in the Highlands
