With the recent 'bun fight' for the GT4 and GT3 RS, resulting in virtually all of the allocation in the UK going to VIPs from the 918 program, it will be very unlikely that OPCs will run a transparent LOI system that would fairly result in a build slot for non 918 owners on gen 11 cars. Although I am not sure how long the VIP program runs for, is it for life once you have bought a 918?

I was chatting to an OPC today who is getting 5 GT3 RSs, all for 918 customers, and that is the most of any UK dealers.

Not correct about all cars going to 918 owners.

My local OPC is getting 4 RS's and more GT4's yet they do not have any 918 clients.

Yes, sorry berty, not having a go, just making the point that we don't really know anything until it happens! anyway, the Autocar piece looks pretty speculative to me. AP has said a few things in general and Autocar have filled in the blanks or that's how it reads to me. So in short we still don't know but I wouldn't be paying £180k for a 991.1 GT3 or bonkers money over list for an RS right now!
Andrew Frankel also did say a few months ago that the 991 RS would have a completely different engine to the 991 gt3 and that's turned out to be total tosh... hehe Apolo1 does have good contacts but he's not necessarily always right either wink so I guess the simple conclusion is.. there isn't going to be a new NA gt3 until there is!

I didn't say all, I said virtually all. I would suggest there are less than 10 GT3 RSs going to non 918 customers.

100 RS's in the UK? And less than 60 918 purchasers.

DT398 &Isadiri - thanks for your input.

The £180k 991.1 GT3 is bonkers, LHD cars are just over £100k. £140k gets you a decent spec 991 RS LHD, if RHD not available.

A lot of speculation & really no-one knows anything that is 100% reliable. And a little, incomplete knowledge can mislead.

Where do you get such daft figures.

On another small forum, there are at least 8 guys getting RS's who don't have a 918, so there will be substantially more than 10 through the UK!

Agree very exciting season ahead with Brendon Hartley and the newly promoted Nick Tandy joining the LMP class, can't wait for that battle!

To be fair to Apolo1, he did say "imho" - it is his opinion, no-one knows for fact till it is all over.

Out of interest, what is the run capped at since you make that suggestion? Thanks

I just think that even though Porsche makes a boatload of cash, to develop a new NA for just one car (RS), to not then use it in another car in some form seems a bit out of the ordinary, Going back to the EVO interview with AP about the GT4 and Jethro asked him how much longer we can expect to see these free revving engines and he said for a good while yet and it was important to still have these engines that have emotion etc running alongside the Turbos so I think there will be a gen2 NA GT3 but who knows for sure...
Separately seen the yellow 991 GT3 at JZM for £174k!!! 300 miles and 3 owners so the speculators had a proper go!!

I was in there today and racing yellow does the 991 GT3 no favours IMHO. It's not a nice colour next to the speed yellow 993 they have got in there. I hadn't noticed the 3 owners and 300 miles! There's also an increasing number of 991 GT3s on the Porsche site, so seems like supply is growing a bit.....
