Must say Sidicks is probably the most enthusiastic owner of the 991 GT3 on PH's, and probably anywhere else. wink
Every post of his smacks of confirmation bias.

I do see the issue of resale values all over PH.

Why not have a new category:?

INVESTMENT CARS

We could have great topics like:

-Depreciation stories

-Sales successes on my Ferrari/Porsche/Morris Marina

-Portfolio planning for the investor

-how to get rich from your garage

It would be very popular. I just want to drive.

It's always the jack offs like this chump si-dick to muck up a discussion... Too worried about deprecation to beat on the car due to a loss of value....
Ya may as well save your girlfriend for the next guy too.... wavey
You're just not a very nice person, are you, as well as being very wrong.

I've done over 4,500 miles in my GT3 since collecting it in July last year.

Most of those obsessed with values of 991 GT3's don't actually own 991 GT3's...

Is a 991 Turbo S faster round a track than a 991 GT3?

Some tracks but not others, unless it's very wet.

The turbo is (allegedly) much easier to drive for the less skilfull driver...

Si-dicks when you come off as an utter bell end you don't get nice you get what you deserve...

Nice is what I give friends and those I respect and I can clearly see you will never be in that category.

The turbo S is just the better car as it should be for the price... period

If you should have the funds I highly recommend it....

All I've done is challenge your opinions on a car you've driven for less than one day and yet you deem it appropriate to continue with offensive name calling.

Your opinions are at odds with the vast majority of people who have (properly) driven the car.

As I said before, the Turbo S is a great car - insanely fast - the main criticisms that are thrown at the 991 GT3 by its haters apply to the Turbo S to the power of 3!!

What's stereotypical abut challenging someone's opinion and being subject to a tirade of personal abuse?

Your 'defend to the death' views on your 991 GT3 are cringeworthy. He didnt like the car and prefers the Turbo. So what?

Why does it matter so much to you? You dont even know who he is!

For what its worth, I wouldnt buy either, I will never buy a Porsche with an auto gearbox. But who cares what I think?

In that case why do you continue to repeat your own views on here and 'defend to the death' your own opinions?

Fact is, he stated his opinion on an Internet discussion forum and simply resorted to being abusive when his view was challenged.

It's interesting that you (and a few others) repeatedly challenge my views on the 991 GT3 simply because "I've not had extensive experience of previous GT3's" but criticise me challenging someone else who apparently has minimal experience of the car that they are criticising! Indeed it would now seem to be the case that I have had more seat time in previous generation GT3's and in the 991 Turbo than he has in the 991 GT3!!!

Ah well, it's only the internet after all, I'm off to bed!

I hope I dont do that, but I do enjoy heated debate and admit to stoking things up because its fun.

Fun, thats what this place should be. We all love Porsches, but you come across as so serious and defensive, and looking for personal confirmation.

Chill out, enjoy your car, you have a 991GT3!

There is not really an objective view , I think.

At some level, when I was a teenager and dating a girl, maybe I was very proud of that girl. Maybe I thought she was beautiful, magical. For me, of course, she was.

Now, if someone came along and said " how come you are with that ugly/boring/crude/whatsoever girl?", I would have been enraged. It was not at all that I doubted my own view, but that it had been attacked for no reason. Somebody in a bar had made the comment. Maybe the girl was awful, maybe she was really gorgeous.

But for me she was beautiful, and somebody was attacking my view.

So, in internet land, the world is full of commentators, and you just have to roll over and let it go. I have bought cars that people trashed..(Bangle M6 for instance?...a million ugly posts). .

Now I just let it rip. If you think I made a bad choice of car, it would be a bad choice for you. Not for me though, because we all choose differently.

I'm having plenty of fun, in the car and on the forum. I'm sure you'd be slightly pissed off if you were the subject of numerous personal insults simply due to challenging someone else's opinion...

I have had personal insults on here. But I dont take them too seriously. I like to have a bit of fun with them. See if I can bring them around, make them laugh.

The internet is a cold medium. I have met people who come across as total cocks on here, and they were actually ok guys. And vice versa.

Look si-dick you tossed out the insults first so don't cry because you made a poor Porsche choice and jumped into the 991 GT3 due to all the hype, we all make mistakes, even I did but I was lucky to come to the conclusion I F'ed up and was able to upgrade before I had to live with it....

Some people like chocolate and some people like really superior vanilla....

Did I tell ya that a 290whp Lotus will smoke a GT3 on track ?

I really dig my 991Turbo S and my RS211 Lotus...but I'm not a track guy and could care less about lap times or rules..

Enjoy your GT3 and keep an eye on those miles ya never know when you might wanna upgrade and trade in values are subjective to abuse...just sayin

Ahh the 90*f sunshine was delightful today in the Santa Monica Mountains with A/C flowing through the seat backs.....
