I don't get all the hype about the 991 GT3 it's just a meh and noisy road car that can be passed by a properly tuned Lotus Exige on track..
I bought into the hype and the next day I returned it for a 991 Turbo S. It is a proper Porsche with grip and midrange torque to cruise through the canyons..
For the price of a new GT3 you can have a low mileage 991 Turbo S...
Just in case the trolls have mucked up the conversation to the point of no return I'll quote myself....I bought into the hype and the next day I returned it for a 991 Turbo S. It is a proper Porsche with grip and midrange torque to cruise through the canyons..

As for all the engineering babble you will always find the answer you are looking for to justify your position in order feel better about a poor choice in Porsches as a daily driver..
Mid range torque is the key for corner exit in the real world or on track but if you feel better driving around in a car with a big ass wing that does nothing at normal everyday speeds, cool. But I prefer a car with active aero that only comes out to play when it's needed...
In my opinion I made the best choice....

That's why your RS211 is so understated and lacking in fixed aero appendages. Wallflower Frank?
Having seen your posts here and there over the years, I had the impression that you wouldn't ever touch a Porsche. Thought you might find it a bit heavy in the tight and twisty canyon stuff? Anyway, enjoy it!
I designed the RS211 for only one purpose and that is handling in the canyons and that it does better than any other car I've owned over the years...Having seen your posts here and there over the years, I had the impression that you wouldn't ever touch a Porsche. See that's how the internet twists things up... I've been a Porsche fan since 1967 after my first ride in a 912 and have owned eight cars over the years...
Well haters gotta hate... hate on this .. 1983
But my rotary Super 7 would kill it in the canyons...just sayin
For the ignorant trolls that notice how I hold and steer my RS211 with 245/40/17 front tires without power assist on a very rough road surface please try and educate your selfs....
Maybe if you can read this....http://www.formula1-dictionary.net/steering_tech.html
I had a great drive through the Malibu canyons on the way to the beach for lunch.
It's funny to see the Rock Store completely empty when weekends are just jamin.....
Did anyone notice that I had my hands placed at 10:51 and 2:27 ? Oh my what could I've been thinking !!!!!!!!
I didn't see any 991 GT3s today

FWIW you drove her v.well Ronin. Nothing wrong with getting a bit of extra leverage and setting yourself up for the next corner - I use the same technique in my 89 Carrera occasionally when needing extra lock. You remind me of another poster on here who can be a bit full on at times and has also been banned from time to time lol.
Send you turbo S to Todd at Protomotive or Betim at BBI to have a fiddle. You'll be amazed at what they can do with these cars.
Funny thing I just got off the phone with Betim at BBI, I'm going down to talk exhaust and their new Cobb tuning software....Send you turbo S to Todd at Protomotive or Betim at BBI to have a fiddle. You'll be amazed at what they can do with these cars.

All these experts are welcome to give me driving lessons in the canyons, you can never stop learning I say....
IMIA nice wheels but I think I'm going with a set of 991 GT3 wheels, after all that is the only thing I like about the car it seems..
We were on the phone for a couple of hours talkin engine tuning and suspension... It's funny how anyone that knows anything knows the RS211 build

PS before you go I still want to know why you move your hands about on the steering wheel so much in this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHFwLczVrGw
especially on they way down.
I know quarter to three and ten to two but I never thought I would see 37 minutes past 10.
Compare to

check the lack of hand movement. Spend some money on driving lessons rather than fast cars, you will feel better about it.

Beats it in time. But he looks to have enjoyed driving the p1 more. He was very animated getting out of it.
What's more important a few tenths or driving pleasure?
To be fair, the whole purpose of the exercise was to see which car was fastest over the lap, not which was most fun to drive. What's more important a few tenths or driving pleasure?
If you were driving the 918 for fun, wouldn't you be adopting a different driving style?
On a tight canyon road the McLaren with it's power is lost in search of grip as it is on corner exit on track....

I would like to thank you all for reminding me (yet again, there was another recent thread conducted in the same "adult" good humoured fashion ) of why I spend so much more time on 911uk.com than I do here these days. kinda sums this place up.

Don't let the door hit you on your way out...... And the GT3 is slower than a slightly modified Lotus Exige on track..
Stay in your own lane punk..

This really is a fecked up thread. Keep it up guys
It always happens when the truth hurts those that will never admit they made a poor choice in a high end purchase...I was willing to let the Porsche dealer charge me $10k to undwind the GT3 deal and get back my RS7 trade in back...
That's how bad I thought the GT3 was...
I was lucky that he had just gotten in a low milage 2014 Turbo S to swap the GT3 for.... No loss for me just a nice twist of fate...
The 991 Turbo S is the better car for me and I'm sure most 991 GT3 owners would feel the same if they had the option to swap out... just sayin

As I'm not your usual mod, I can't answer your question. Can you give me a clue as to when it went missing?

We've asked the techies to reinstate, that won't happen until the working week starts.
HTH.
Hey big Al, how about doing a proper job ridding the trolls from the discussion instead of editing my posts, now that would be a job of even a slacker moderator could do ehh ?ETA

GT3 and GT3RS are limited runs so like anything that outstrips supply, the demand will drive up the price. Wish I'd bought both as investment
Ronin - I'm not sure about the dodgey tash, but the car looks superb! I'm slowly moving over to liking and maybe buying a 991 Turbo S - but 997.2 Turbo S is still too good to be true for me.
Thanks for an entertaining thread
Ronin you absolutely right over light and powerful for the track (1.4t is too much IMHO) - here's mine at llandow race circuit (975kg kerb and lots of horses) ...
The Ultima is an awesome car, I was looking for one to buy before I bought the 991 Turbo S.... Ronin - I'm not sure about the dodgey tash, but the car looks superb! I'm slowly moving over to liking and maybe buying a 991 Turbo S - but 997.2 Turbo S is still too good to be true for me.
