This really is a fecked up thread. Keep it up guys
It always happens when the truth hurts those that will never admit they made a poor choice in a high end purchase...I was willing to let the Porsche dealer charge me $10k to undwind the GT3 deal and get back my RS7 trade in back...
That's how bad I thought the GT3 was...
I was lucky that he had just gotten in a low milage 2014 Turbo S to swap the GT3 for.... No loss for me just a nice twist of fate...
The 991 Turbo S is the better car for me and I'm sure most 991 GT3 owners would feel the same if they had the option to swap out... just sayin

10 approved used 991 Turbo S cars on the Porsche UK website - all of which could be had for the price of my GT3 and I'd still be able to have £20k-£40k in change. I'm not interested and I suspect neither are any other GT3 drivers, else they would already have done so. The cheapest GT3 on the website is £160k.I was willing to let the Porsche dealer charge me $10k to undwind the GT3 deal and get back my RS7 trade in back...

Despite a list price of £20k-£30k above that of the GT3, the Turbo S is now trading £30k-£50k below. That says it all.
Why you feel the need to keep trolling and justifying your own decision is beyond me. I'm glad you have found a car that suits your style of driving, the rest of us prefer a sweet singing flat 6 revving to 9,000rpm and are happy to use the gearbox to keep the engine in the sweet spot.
Please move on.

I would like to thank you all for reminding me (yet again, there was another recent thread conducted in the same "adult" good humoured fashion ) of why I spend so much more time on 911uk.com than I do here these days. kinda sums this place up.
Don't let the door hit you on your way out...... And the GT3 is slower than a slightly modified Lotus Exige on track..
Stay in your own lane punk..

More seriously... why has the Vol2 of the 991 GT3 Owners thread been removed ??? There was a lot of info in there and I really found it useful as a genuine GT3 owner who drives, enjoys and cares to protect the car...
As I'm not your usual mod, I can't answer your question. Can you give me a clue as to when it went missing?ETA
We've asked the techies to reinstate, that won't happen until the working week starts.

I think it was wc March 17th - I think it may have been my fault as I posted a link to a charity site to help support the people of Vanuatu after Cyclone Pam - a fellow very well known and respected PH'r who helped loads of people on the 991 GT3 thread called Macca lives there and it was a link to the charity he set up - really sorry to everyone - I didn't realise this would happen , but he really needed our support - if anyone wants a link to the charity please pm me and I'll forward - cheers ETA

Hey big Al, how about doing a proper job ridding the trolls from the discussion instead of editing my posts, now that would be a job of even a slacker moderator could do ehh ?ETA

GT3 and GT3RS are limited runs so like anything that outstrips supply, the demand will drive up the price. Wish I'd bought both as investmentDespite a list price of £20k-£30k above that of the GT3, the Turbo S is now trading £30k-£50k below. That says it all.
Ronin - I'm not sure about the dodgey tash, but the car looks superb! I'm slowly moving over to liking and maybe buying a 991 Turbo S - but 997.2 Turbo S is still too good to be true for me.
Thanks for an entertaining thread
Ronin you absolutely right over light and powerful for the track (1.4t is too much IMHO) - here's mine at llandow race circuit (975kg kerb and lots of horses) ...

The Ultima is an awesome car, I was looking for one to buy before I bought the 991 Turbo S.... Ronin - I'm not sure about the dodgey tash, but the car looks superb! I'm slowly moving over to liking and maybe buying a 991 Turbo S - but 997.2 Turbo S is still too good to be true for me.

I think your lotus based car and Turbo S more than makes up for that. If the 991 moves the game on from 997.2 then it's a truly awesome machine on the public road and track. I still can't get over the grip and performance on track for what most term as a grand tourer/cruiser.tjlees said:

So are you saying that I should have imposed you the normal 7 days forum break for breaching the sites swear filter? Perhaps I need to be a little less "slack" next time.

Exactly and that was the point of my first post... Maybe I just need a big ass wing to fit in....nah
Big wing slows you down and looks naff on a turbo I had to remove the ultima wing to max out at 203.
The 997.2 turbo s showed an indicated 205mph with no changes on the same run :clodu9:
These cars are awesome on launch control ... The 991 even more so.

Maybe just respond to the reports of offensive posts by trolls first would be a proper start and then just be the nanny police if you feel the need. I assume we are all grown ups here and speak as adults face to face so why not get with reality or should wee all put on our flat caps and say pip pip cheerio instead...

What 'reports of offensive posts by trolls' ??Big Al if you feel the need to swing it go ahead no loss to me....
Isn't it your posts that have been viewed as offensive and troll-like?
