Ken at Nine Excellence lied to me...

When you look at what your car cost imran to get to that level its a performance bargain tbh. Its not like its an outright drag special either, its a beautiful everyday driver. Perfect compromise for me as you could park it anywhere and aren't scared to use it. A lambo or a Ferrari would be ace but you'd constantly worry about town driving and leaving it anywhere.
The 911 gave me the impression that pound for pound it was the best value car there as an all rounder.
Perfect garage :
Tuned 911 turbo for daily driver
La Ferrari for high days :-)

haha I'm more easily pleased. Have a hankering for a manual F430 Coupe. Shapes really grown on me. Prefer the 360 but think F430 will be far cheaper to run! Love the 458 too but not sure about auto transmission. The 911 gave me the impression that pound for pound it was the best value car there as an all rounder.

Hi Zero we were on Cup 2s on a wet day and trying to manage wheel spin for much of the day. I think she'll do 6.5 secs to 6.7 secs on a nice cool day. From the 202 trap speed and with the cars that were there (and knowing what sort of power they have) personally I think we're maybe even running nearer 700 bhp. Not all the 700+ bhp cars could have had a bad day. Full results below and the Agrera and a tuned Noble Carbon edition with 700bhp should have trounced us with 1000bhp and 700bhp through the traps. There was a 700bhp GT2 FS owner there and having run against us he also feels we may well have closer to 700 bhp too. Not bad for a car with GT2 hybrids and a few bits and pieces without an engine build!
This gives you an idea of power to weight of Agrera and Noble http://fastestlaps.com/cars/koenigsegg_agera_s.htm...
Here's link to full results on the day and they also make interesting reading

IM, you're going to have to put yourself out of your misery and get your car on a Maha dyno, has to be one of these if you want a realistic power figure. Google one near you and get it sorted. A proper Maha set up

Not really because of the variables.
The wind could have had a big effect (remember my 580hp 993 GT2 body did 201 before the beams (rev limiter) with a following wind)
The surface and slope means you can only really compare to other Brunters runs
You need to compare to another 997 turbo with same tyres, no good comparing with say GT2 as the aero is so different, 997 turbo CdA 0.59, GT2RS 0.70 So the turbo needs 279hp to overcome drag at 300kph and the GT2RS (body) needs 330hp. This effectively means if both cars have the same 0-300 time the GT2 has 52hp more than the turbo (there are other factors like the drag of the 4WD system but they are fairly negligible) .
The only real way to know the hp from the acceleration figures is to test back to back with another tuned 997 turbo with big tyres with known engine dyno tested hp.
My GT2 with RS aero did 207mph GPS in 2011 at a vmax event with 734PS (engine dyno) so if you consider the aero differences you probably have that 650PS I keep referring to. TBH you don't want any more as you're going to start bending stuff if you go any higher on the stock internals.
Get on the Maha, you'll enjoy it

Nice result IMI. Well done. What fuel were you running?
Here's a MAHA.

I ran early runs on normal V power but later I used 20% MS109 mixture. The car runs better on a blend of the good stuff when running multiple runs all day and avoids detonation. I'm going to use 50% mixture next time as Ken kindly gave 10 litres of the 20 litres he had. It was mixed with 54 litres of Vpower. Will call you later Nick been baby sitting all day

What boost did it run out of interest Imran?impressive gfor stock internals. I could see me getting a very long ban with that as a road car.
In normal mode for road driving she's only running 1.1bar. In sport mode she runs 1.3 bar which is still nothing if you consider a GT2 RS which has v.similar turbos runs something like 1.6 bar from memory. Do not want to blow the engine up though lol. Its a beautifully judged tune.I have no speeding points unbelievably in 8 years of owning her
After going to an event like VMAX do not feel the need to open her up properly! Fastest I've been in the car stock was 193 mph. Fastest I'd been after the tune pre VMAX was 179mph up to VMAX!

I reckon it would have pulled 210 on that gearing as it was still accelerating at 202mph but he runway braking zone gets short lol
I've been much more scared on a private road cough somewhere in the north once when a friend was mapping his car, in the dark, as you do. The car was 700 to 800bhp fwd and changed lanes due to torque steer on boost. A 911 Turbo with 640bhp or more is just a beautiful drive. It really opened my eyes to the marque as it was the first time I'd driven one. Looking forward now to blagging a drive in a Veyron lol

700bhp FWD?! Going shopping & topping yourself all rolled into one. 200Plus Club said:
As per Imran, the thing is not in the slightest bit scary.

Felt no more frightening than doing 70 mph on the motorway and it was a wet & windy day. Unbelievable how stable she is at high speed. Anyone who's passed their test would have managed 200 + out of her without breaking sweat.
I find these answers disturbing, I hope you guys are just being macho. If you don't find going over 150mph scary then IMO you shouldn't really be doing it, you've got to respect the game.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
