He just needs to get in touch with Joss (wasn't she lovely!?) or Craig. There's an event in may at Brunters I think and another in July at 5 mile Welsh runway. I think a few more engines may let go in Wales.
Can't be a runway can it, planes don't need 5 miles to take off - isn't it a beach ? If so, you really want to run your P&J on sand and near salty water ?I've no idea but I just googled world's longest runway and it said it was 3.42 miles long in China
It must be a beach/sands in which case a def no for me, can you imagine the traction problems (OK for jet thrust, not so good for driven wheels) and all that sand and salt getting into you car's oily bits
Edited to add, those are commercial runways by the looks of it, there are some pretty long military ones most in the US, the longest being 7.5 miles, but can't find owt in de Wales.

Pendine sands has been the home of quite a few fatal accidents at top speed events lol! cant see many volunteering to sand blast their million pound car on there but you never know. some of the owners might want to try it! i think there is another v max event other than that though?
if you were interested, straightliners are still running the odd top speed day (both directions) on the main runway at Elvington, which is a far better surface than brunters and is flat, this summer? the top bikes will be doing 260mph.
i can find out dates if a few of you wanted to come up 'norf, its near York, and easy to get to.

Elvington is an excellent venue. Straightliners run friendly laid back events with a decent crew so you'll get lots of runs in. Typically its more bikes than cars so you wont be queuing too much and they have the advantage of a longer flatter runway than that at Brunters and without any vehicles or trailers parked. There is also the Yorkshire air museum next door of you fancy a potter round a ww2 airbase etc, quite interesting.
If anyone fancies a run up I'll speak to Trevor who organises the events and see how many cars are booked in.
