991 GT3 RS Seats

I've nearly finished the specification for my RS with the exception of seats. Sport buckets or full buckets ? I had full buckets on my 996 GT3 CS which I found very comfortable so I have a leaning towards the full buckets. Any one had a chance to try both ?? Any weight difference ?? Thanks

I had the full buckets in my Gen 2. RS and they were very good. But, IMHO you either fit into them or you do not and are uncomfortable in them. My longest drive was Brussells to Zell 1100 kms in 11 hrs with only two short fuel stops and I still felt good. My wife however could never get comfortable ( ie fit ) in them . The weight difference in these latest full buckets and sports buckets is less marked than before. Having a seat back that reclines will be essential to most of us. But the new 991 RS full buckets are from the 918 so that might presuade many buyers.

It's a personal decision, you can only know what to decide by either trying both yourself, or listening to your brothers on PH.

I've spec'd full buckets on my 991 RS , but might change my mind nearer the time ?

I have gone for the folding bucket seats from the 997 generation RS. These are a bit less upright than the 918 buckets and crucially make access to the space behind the seats much easier - e.g. to put luggage or a helmet in the back of the car.

I find these folding buckets much more comfortable than the 996 RS seats.

Was wondering about this in one of the other threads. Think i will go with the folding gt2 seats as i have been told the 918 seats are really upright (even more so than the CGT style ones) and having electrical height adjustment it slightly defeats the purpose of full bucket seats...

Are you sure they have electrical heigh adjust ? I found the 918 seats good at Geneva.

On the 918 I am sure I was told it has electric height adjust. Not sure on the RS admittedly (or GT4 for that matter).
