There is insanity then there is paying £50+k ove for a RHD 991RS, a car that is neither limited nor sure to be the end of it's type especially when there are LHD cars for a heck of a lot less even if one pays swiss prices. Still if money is no object why not....
Not limited?

Build time limited is absolutely not the same as a true numbered limited edition car like the gt2rs or 4.0.

, especially considering the performance difference is marginal.
On road, maybe, but on track whole new game...big lateral Gs..nos.....
But only 5 secs on the ring, less than a second per mile quicker! Given what Andreas said about the huge leap forward you would have thought performance would reflect that, but it does not seem to yet! Perhaps once the Ring dries up and they get some more laps in the gap will grow?

Don't disagree, but then shouldn't that rule apply to the GT3 as well, therefore the gap is a genuine 5 secs between the two cars?

Indeed - At the Goodwood preview event, Andreas was very open that the claimed bhp was 'conservative'...

From what I know, in the real world taking into account the amount of aero, and the lateral G that the new RS can do, I would expect the gap to be double what is said above....

SO if indeed GT cars are under stated, my point is this should apply to both cars, the GT3 and the GT3 RS, therefore the bhp gap is probably as stated, albeit with different numbers, the the Ring gap is the Ring gap. Unless of course we are saying they the 3 was hammered around and the GT pootled?
Why would Porsche say the lap time is only 5 secs faster if it was more? Surely they would want to make as much noise as possible, and stick it to the GTRs of this world? We are told the whole point of these things having PDK is to get the quickest lap time possible, then you undercook it?

~130 7.2 RS I thought...?
I found multiple sources for the 87 number when I looked into it. Have you been looking at HowManyLeft? Don't assume that the number registered equals the number of UK cars officially sold. There are a surprising number of imports... wink

Oops, sorry. I think I pulled that figure from an Auto Express article so I should have known it was wrong biggrin

Is it true that the liquid paint option is 5 figures?
I seem to recall that the liquid metal paint was €45k. I drove one at PEC Silverstone which had this paint option, while the car was staggering to drive, the paint didn't do anything for me...
