Can't agree with much of that. Pushing £400k? Seriously? There are other ways to spend your money on cars out there other than the 991.1 GT3 and 991.1 GT3 RS. What do you mean by the right people? I bet some of these "right people" have sold on their allocations already for a nice profit, which is fair enough if you got one and someone wants to pay for it.
The 918 cost £870kBecause you buy one you can get a GT4, do it and make a £30k profit
You also get the option to buy a 991 GT3 RS, do it and make £60k
The 'right people' will be looked after by Porsche
Same deal with Ferrari; become a good customer and they will purchase your new 458 (or whatever) for what you paid, and you effectively get a free upgrade for a new model. I know people who trade their F cars almost annually for free on this basis.

and me much higher, would not be surprised if it tracks the 4s from a price point, actually taking into account that's these cars are going to the right people, would not expect to see many, if any on the 2nd market..

The actual owner's don't seem to bothered either way from a price point, they know what a great car it is, and this side of 250k new nothing comes close..
Don't understand why the few that don't own one, are so fussed about prices?
Many actual owners have bailed out because of the inflated price, still a great car if you like that kind of car. This GT3 is a quantum leap. It is a Porsche, not a Ferrari - different "value" proposition. BMW's are always seen as cheaper cousins of Porsche.Don't understand why the few that don't own one, are so fussed about prices?
Those who were unable to buy because of rising prices with huge premiums will of course be fussed about prices - the 991 GT3 prices have been quite a different experience to all prior new GT3's or RS's. Long term Porsche fans (not day traders) want to experience this latest GT offering, but at a price they can relate to taking into account prior models/list price/prices in Germany.
The pricing differential to the list price of the RS (I know you can't buy one) looked wrong and I don't think it's a coincidence that two weeks after that was announced all these cars hit the market. Also given the natural domain of a GT3 is a track where LHD matters not the £60 or £70k theoretical premium to LHD cars was bonkers.
"Normal" PTS on a 918 was €18k inc VAT. Floor mats were €1k+VAT! (carbon though...)
I think there will be a few RS for sale early on, as some 918 owners won't really want them, but won't want to have passed up on a profit. I had a chat to Swiss dealer at Geneva, (who sold more GT3 than any other Euro dealer), and they said that most of their 918 owners weren't interested in an RS.
I'm told that there will be less than 100 total UK cars, and think that really is what Porsche are saying now, but who knows if that number changes in future.

Did you not forecast the 500k 4.0RS so many times or was that when you had 6 cars to sell.

I think personally thats a given Mermaid...the market it seemed was a bit behind on the 918...for a while there were several unsold now I believe there is actually only 1 physical car for sale in Europe at over £1M.
People woken up to the fact this thing really is in terms of technology alone quite incredible. I was told at Spa last week that the Ring Time test car was neither full power or had active aero and Lieb reckons that double figure seconds time off the 6.57 is pretty comfortable. Not that its all about that of course but still shows the development of the car even in last 18 months or so.

Agreed, real game changer and good value for a hyper car - prefer it to the Mclaren/Ferrari hypercars.People woken up to the fact this thing really is in terms of technology alone quite incredible.

I suppose he will be be predicting a 2million 918 by the end of April. Just kidding, Mr Apolo.
