Not sure if I ever posted these but here was a set of Porsche GT2 discs that we refurbished some time ago. The customer was absolutely over the moon and saved quite a wedge of money too over OEM prices.

Forum member Wycoller (now called oldandcrankie biggrin) was kind enough to email me this evening with pictures of his GT2 and the refurbished discs he received from SICOM and he gave me his blessing to share them with you all.

and here are his thoughts

Hi Schermherhorn
Good day
My dealings with Wolfgang, first class service and a true gent. Yes there was a mix up regarding the returning of the Refurb discs , but easy mistake no problem at all. Its not as if I was desperate for the discs. I have Alcons on at the moment. My main concern was losing them.
I’m presently in the USA so the discs have yet to be installed , etc. this I’m planning for winter and hopefully I’ll be home in Spring to try them out.
Here are photos they look absolutely like brand new and I, m very pleased, what a great service you provide. If they perform as good as they look enough said!
Yes id have absolutely no hesitation in using you again and recommending you to other owners.
Thank you for the follow up
PS I was going to post but couldn’t manage it so by all means please post on my behalf and copy and paste my response.
Cheers
James
Many thanks again James!

Yeah I'm just gonna run them, keep an eye, and not worry about it.

Are there any reviews on SICOM? Very reasonable price if you get what they promise, but I can't find anything from anyone who has used them.
I am waiting for mine to be delivered back, there has been some delay with the factory. Will report back on how good they look once arrived.

It was nice speaking to you the other day. smile

The delays have been down to the factory commiting to more F1 work and one of the autoclave ovens being down for a little time.

If people ordered now the waiting times could be elongated due the above reasons and also because of a factory shut down in Slovenia. However all orders will be met and quality will not suffer at all.

Hope this helps guys!

Business as usual now guys. Winter has been very busy for us, some of you may know that we produce clutches and other ceramic components for F1 teams including the likes of Ferrari etc so when the order books get filled, the refurbishment side unfortunately suffers.

However, it is all back to normal now and lead times far less elastic than they were over the last quarter of 2015.

Hi Chris,

Not sure what is on the shelf in Germany at the moment. You can ask Wolfgang if you want, have you got his contact details?

For anyone considering this service. Don't.

Wolfgang @ Sicom still has my money and deposit for a set of GT2 discs that have never materialised.

He promised a refund in November 2015 when he admitted they were having problems with the gen 1 carbon ceramics and I am still waiting. Numerous excuses about accounts departments not having my bank details, people forgetting etc. I've sent these again and again, almost monthly now with no reply from Wolfgang.

I have held off posting about my situation as I thought I would give them a chance, but I have now had to get my solicitor involved as this is not a small amount of money I have paid.

Reading a few Ferrari forums, I'm not the only person who's been in this situation unfortunately.

I have saved all my emails, so anyone wishing to see this conman at work, I'll happily PM you.

To be precise since I was happy --- have you not received your credit for the returned discs ?

Or did you not receive the discs that you had paid for ???

Hi Spoof

I work for SICOM as their UK sales agent on an ad hoc basis.

Sorry to went through this.

We have had a few problems with GT2 and GT3 discs but all were resolved in the end to my understanding. Much of the problems came from backlogs and F1 work taking up SICOM's time so the refurbishment side took a backburner. Or there were simply not enough GT2 and GT3 discs in circulation from cars that could be resold/refurbished.

Customers were made aware of this and all customers who wanted a refund were refunded due to the elastic time schedules, could hang on longer (if their cars were occasional use cars) or other arrangements were made with them. I am surprised these options were not presented to you, normally Wolfgang is very punctual in such matters.

Email me if you wish and I'll try my best to get to the bottom of it for you. Email address is in my profile.

I've received no discs and no refund. Currently 2646 Euros out of pocket. Plus the set of GT2 discs I subsequently had to purchase.

Will do.

My family have a few cars with Carbon ceramic brakes, so my next port of call is to visit all the Ferrari, Aston and Lamborghini forums to let fellow owners and acquaintances know the score with SICOM.

I've noticed eBay adverts too now, so be aware, it appears to be the same company.

I'd like to know the reason you didn't get your refund from Sicom, there are usually two sides to the story. If the story is how you present it and Sicom are basically dodging paying you your money back then this is suicidal business practice which is a shame since as you will find out OEM Porsche ceramics are expensive !
