I swapped my GT3 for an ex Porsche Championship race prepped 968 (13k with Brian James trailer) Fantastic fun as you can drive it at 10/10ths on every track and it kept most GT3s honest wink

+1 for the 968

A few years ago after I sold my 996GT3 Club Sport I bought a 968 for the track, fitted coil overs, a cage, seats & harnesses plus a set of 996 GT3 brakes (for which you can buy adaptors off the shelf) and 18" wheels. On Pilot Cup Sports that car was awesome, great fun to drive & faster than a good number of far more expensive track cars.

It is also comfortable enough to drive to and from the track and can still be road registered.

Good advice Jimmy lighter means less consumables as well.
Did a Track day a month ago , first in 5 years or so and was supprised to see no GT3 s on track beside a Cup car . Five years ago there would be 10 plus GT3s , so either different owners now or the value has forced them into the garage.
REnt a Caterham from BaT and see how you like it .

i did the m3 CSL.

with kw clubsport suspension, cups, AP brakes and a full cage/ stripped and antique sequential shifter, it is wonderful. flat shifting in mode 6 gives a wonderful thump on the back of your head every time.....

The car is brilliantly communicative, wonderfully balanced and engine revs like a big capacity vtec honda.

although i think you get most of the benefits with a regular m3.

4way suspension , all carbon panels so on;y 1100kg , adjustable brake bias etc etc big downforce all for £45 , could not build it for double that
Looks great can put the GT3 ( investment )away get a trailer and once driven this will never enjoy driving a road car on track again .....

Agreed £45k 911 race car excellent in theory but; Noise problems at most tracks; set up for slicks so need spare set of wheels and mechanic for suspension change when it rains; 25hrs sounds good until you realise that needs total rebuild at 30; so fast that you are forever up the arse of someone which spoils your drive; some racecars take 3 years to sell so you have it for life; etc etc

Do Not believe all you are told , as you know we have raced Porsches for about 10 years ...... had great fun , tracked a GT 2R at the Ring etc etc and made ends meet.....won at epic circuits in Memorable Porsches ...easy to run yourself we have never had team running us (except in 24 hour events ) ...
AS I said once you drive these cars on track , road cars are a lap or two and then that is it time to go home . Pounding around in a soft car not so much fun , life is just too short...
This car comes with a 102 db
Yes we too are storing the Porsche investments , hence Ferrari.
