It took two weeks of fiddling then a complete replacement and recommissioning of the VTS on my new car. I just called the insurance broker and confirmed by email that the tracker was not operating properly and they wrote back confirming insurance cover would continue and asked me to advise when fixed.
My Panamera Hybrid has been over a week at the Porsche dealer. They had to wait for new parts from Leipzig and take the front bumper off to install them. I was supposed to get it back yesterday evening but no phone call to say it is finished, so wondering if the part from Leipzig has not done the trick. Weirdly, yesterday morning, I started to get calls from Vodafone, Switzerland, saying: Theft Alert for GU67***. I rang the garage to ask if someone was taking a little holiday in Switzerland in my Panamera but they assured me they could see it from where they were taking the call. I have tracking theft warnings suspended at Vodafone UK until this evening. At least the loaner V8 diesel Panamera is a great car apart from the engine stop start, which it defaults to at ever start and the 8 speed PDK gearbox at low speeds is noticeably clunkier/jerkier than the Hybrid, with the electric motor smoothing things out.

The aerial module did not cure the GPS/VTS/SOS problem on my Panamera Hybrid. The dealer has had to order a GPS control module, which took 4 days to arrive (haven't Porsche heard about Fedex/UPS guaranteed next day European deliveries)? It should be fitted today and I assume it is being fitted, since I received a phone call from Vodafone this morning, asking my permission for the system to be put into garage test mode, which obviously, I granted. However, I have put the dealer on notice that if the control module does not cure the problem and/or extensive testing reveals there is still an issue or the problem (including any other electrical/electronic issue) reoccurs in the four weeks after I have collected the car, that I will put them under written notice that I shall be rejecting the vehicle. This is under the Consumer Protection Act 1975, section 48 (as subsequently amended), that it is unsuitable and/or unsatisfactory for the purpose for which it was intended at the time of sale. If the system is still giving problems, my suspicion is that there is wiring loom problem and the car will never be satisfactory or reliable. In a new car of this value, this is wholly unacceptable. In the over three weeks I have owned the car, I have done just 120 miles in it.
