I've been thinking about this as well. Found the following part numbers mentioned above:

997.424.010.00 - For 997 Carrera approx £130
997.424.010.91 - For 997 GT3 approx £230

So I guess the questions are, is the GT3 one £100 better? Do you need to add the cables for the full benefit? Will the Carrera one be a big difference?

Thoughts??

About to do this. Can anyone answer the question posted by the previous poster?

My guess, and it is only a guess, is the 997.424.010.91 part number is the 997.2 (2010) shift KeepItLit refers to in his post on page one of this thread.
I suspect that it's most likely the metal bushed RS item.
For road use I found the standard 997 part number I referred to was more than adequate.
Check with your OPC to confirm which part is off which car.

I thought it was a one piece fork change only. OPC cost used to be around £400 fitted?

I'm happy with my standard 997 shifter. No cable upgrade. But still a noticable improvement

Fitted the GT3 RS shifter mentioned above to my 996.1 yesterday and took it for a spin afterwards - much better action, much less slop in the shift, as said much more rifle bolt. £303 from an OPC inc. delivery, less PCGB discount, so £280 (I got it for less from the for sale section of 911uk - brand new but not needed). Takes about an hour or so to fit (DIY) as you need to remove the centre console, but is just a straight swap. Be careful when you pull the console out as it catches on the handbrake lever stem and will damage the leather (ask me how I know!) so wrap it in a towel or something to protect it, otherwise it is very simple. Instructions on removing the centre console are on Pelican Parts / the book "101 Projects For Your Porsche 911 1998 - 2008". Good luck!
