Long story short...

2009 cayenne S with air suspension and pdcc.
Had total electrical failure this evening (flat battery). When I parked it this morning it sounded like the pump on the air suspension kept on running and believe it eventually drained the battery out.
Jump started it this evening, the pump started up again for a minute and then stopped. Gave the system chassis error failure message on the dash and the air suspension would not change. Could hear what sounded like air leaving (with force) from enter the car between the front wheel and the drivers door.

Now the system chassis failure error warning has gone but the sound persists and the suspension is sagged right down.

Will call the dealership in the morning but interested to hear people's thoughts....

Sounds like a leak, the pump is on to build up the pressure and as the leak is there it won't get to the desired setting hence running on till the battery has died.

Hopefully it will be a minor repair.

Thanks Carl, I'm thinking and hoping the same. Will keep my fingers crossed.

With mine, I was once told that if I clearly had leaking suspension to immediately stop the car. Otherwise, the compressor will continue trying to inflate and will eventually overheat and fail - and that they are VERY expensive.

I hope that hasn't happened to you, but I'd be worried that it sounds like the compressor has now given up. Maybe the fact that it's registered a fault disables it somehow.

Drove it the 5 miles home after. There was a lot of heat from under the car but it sounded like the compressor was still functioning as when I restarted it after you could hear air being forced out of the leak.

Not had time to call garages yet today. Might have to wait till tomorrow but no plans to drive the car anywhere further.

Oh and Sod's law... My warranty expired two weeks ago !
