Need new tyres all round asap
Discussion
Hello...
I'm looking for a complete set of new tyres Asap. Any ideas on the following tyres and where to order them at the best possible price for delivery (not fitted).
Rear: 305/30/19 and fronts 235/35/19
Either:Bridgestone RE050A or Pirelli P Zero ?
Need to make a decision asap in the next day or two max...
Much appreciated...

Thanks all...will take a look at those sites...James appreciate that and normally I would consider that but set my mind on new ones...
Apparently, the tyres I specified are shiyyyt so what's the best n rated in the sizes specified for performance and cost other than Michelin's as they wear far too quickly for my liking..
Cheers

to the OP buy the 2nd hand SS, for get N spec and enjoy the best roads tyres on the market today.
+1 (million)! The SuperSport is light-years ahead of the (very) old Pirelli or Bridgestone designs for grip, responsiveness, feel and longevity. Due to the load rating of the front SuperSport being significantly higher than the 'N' rated tyres (and the construction being accordingly different) you'll need to run a slightly lower pressure in the fronts - after a lot of experimentation, I've found 32 PSI to be the best compromise for normal road use. If you go to the 34/35 PSI you'd typically use in an 'N' rated tyre, the feedback from the steering starts to fall away and sensitivity to road cambers, ruts etc. increases dramatically.
Edited to add: to the OP- my car is also a gen-2 997 on Carrera Sport wheels, so hopefully you'll get the same results from the SuperSport that I have.

Isn't having a different load rating likely to cause other problems? The SuperSport is light-years ahead of the (very) old Pirelli or Bridgestone designs for grip, responsiveness, feel and longevity. Thanks all... love to go for any tyre but apparently i need to get an N rated one as the car is under warranty and needs to be porsche approved...
I used to have Bridgestones RE050A on them before that lasts for ages... and performance/grip was also very good. I then had new Michelins Sports all round and they seemed to wear a lot faster with not that much noticable difference in performance/grip...
BTW i think http://www.oponeo.co.uk seems like a great place for tyres.....

Very interesting question. What I've found is the SuperSports work very well if all the car's other suspension and steering components are in tip-top condition, but they ruthlessly expose any minor issues that wouldn't be that noticeable using 'N' rated tyres. One of the first things I noticed, immediately after putting on the SuperSports, was some serious instability in the front end of the car (997S.2). This manifested itself as the front bouncing around all over the place over long crests and dips on motorways. Encountering a dip on a motorway bend was enough to push the car seriously off line. On the previous tyres ('N' rated PS2s) the same symptoms had been there, but to a much lesser degree. In simple terms, the car had gone from 'must replace the dampers at some point' to 'this is bl**dy dangerous, just from a change of front tyre.
Predictably, the front dampers were found to be badly worn-out: the results on Bilstein's test rig showed there to be almost no low-frequency compression damping left - exactly what IS needed to damp-out long undulations on motorways. Replacing the front dampers with Bilstein B4s (same spec as Porsche OE) completely solved the problem and the car now handles perfectly normally, so it certainly looks like the SuperSports work the front dampers a lot harder than their 'N'-rated equivalents.

In the event of a major accident,I suggest that the insurance company might raise some issues if the incorrect tyres (load rating) were used...
I would've thought they'd only be questioning a lower rating than the manufacturer recommends?I can't see an issue with putting 104s on when they were 100s standard - surely, it just means they're capable of coping with higher loads?
