991 GT3 RS - Paint To Sample - Idea's Please

Gulf Orange for me changed from GT Silver. Saw lava orange at Silverstone last wednesday and thought it looked awful.

I saw a green the other day on a VW, a Polo I think, and thought it'd look good on the GT3. It was a colour almost in between the Porsche Mint Green and Porsche Signal Green - it was almost pastel-like..

respectfully, that's bks till we have seen the results in months to come. Those wanting to sell a Lava orange will of course have a different view.

Back to RS, imv its a track bias car needs to be seen, either Lava or the motor sport colour, ie white.....

some of the colours above should come with a matching crimplene suit and suede shoes..imv, a couple of the examples look like a wheelie bin........Lol

Mexico Blue (Code 336) is an approved colour, so I'd expect early 2016.

For me though, dark colours are out. Binned. Metallics too. They are not right for this type of car.

It has to be bright and stunning. So, heres my shortlist;

Voodoo blue (a lovely mid blue, riviera is too light)
Maritime blue (a deeper almost reddish tint)
Rubystone (proper fk you colour!)
Blood orange (beautful hue)
Guards red. (Its the daddy)
Carrara white (because race car)
Viper or Porsche Green (both fabulous)

I am not sure that the yellows are right as its quite a big car.

I actually like the lava, it will probably end up being THE colour. Or that might be that purple!

Anyways, what would I have. Well, I would want to be different and go with what I like so its Guards red.

Agree - what a fabulous problem - wish they were all like this !
Love Voodoo and Maritime - very tempting to go blue - agree IMHO all the other blues people put on GT's are a bit washed out to my taste
Really sorry don't get the Rubystone thing - I realise this is tantamount to heresy
Blood Orange - looks great on the rendering below with the decals - love the decals !
GR - not for me
Viper and Porsche green - need to grow some before I can spec the proper colours

Really not sure about the Lava - or this thread would not have been started - just looks a bit disappointing in real life

I was told an extra 3 to 4 weeks for PTS as long as on the approved list - as my build isn't until Novemebr it's no problem to wait a month

GT Silver is a safe choice, and quite elegant. Carbon fibre trim for the front wing. scoop on rear wing? And saves money.

Re lava orange not packing the punch that people are looking for in an RS colour: does anyone remember whether the same was true of Zanzibar on the MK1? i.e. It's a colour that divides opinion, not a classic solid colour etc.

Some may disagree but this is now what makes it such a great colour, unique and delivers something different in the flesh.

Will lava be similar in the future?
