I would certainly ask re PTS, but fear the boat has sailed. I think white looks a bit 'scalextric' , a mess, with all the black vents and aero etc.
if I were lucky enough to have got a slot, I would certainly push for PTS. The choice of colours is poor IMO, but would have had to go for Lava as the launch colour.
Hi Rob - hope you are well ? I like a bit of Scalextric - looks OK to me - honestly Lava in the metal is just not right - looks loads better in the photos than in reality. Agree colour selection is a bit pants if I were lucky enough to have got a slot, I would certainly push for PTS. The choice of colours is poor IMO, but would have had to go for Lava as the launch colour.

PTS has become a nightmare on this car. Porsche will not do Guards Red and now also all configurators have had PTS removed.
What is happening is anyone's guess. I suspect PTS may have been withdrawn from now on. Have given in and ordered in white its really the only colour acceptable for me.
Expected build October for November delivery I think they will complete the majority of the UK cars around then.
GR is on the approved list AFAIK, PTS cars will be built in 2016 I expect. What is happening is anyone's guess. I suspect PTS may have been withdrawn from now on. Have given in and ordered in white its really the only colour acceptable for me.

Thank for the info however Porsche GB have repeatedly tried to get Guards Red for me but Germany have said no not available full stop. Even though I am willing to pay the PTS additional charge to get what is a standard colour on any other version of 911. Personally I don`t mind waiting until spring 2016. I have had more grief specking this car than the last 5 GT cars put together. Usually its been a pleasurable experience but not this time. Its all down to the limited colour choice and the confusion that is called PTS (P ain in T he back S ide)
Indischrot - I stand to be corrected, the colour is listed but feasibility check is necessary (paint compatibility with roof & other new components) i.e requires 12 months and production will have finished before the 12 months are up.RSVP911 said:
So , PTS is ok is spec was in and locked before it was pulled ?? All very confusing
Yes I had it confirmed, did it the day after i saw the lava at e london evening a few weeks ago, which I'd had my doubts about for a while. There is some more detail on a rennlist thread, RS PTS that due to overwhelming PTS requests they shut it on 6th July. They have added Miami Blue (blue/grey), yellow and black i think, but i haven't checked the configurator in the last few days.PTS is officially on stop. Cars already allocated with PTS can face up to a 5 month extra wait over and above the normal production month. However customers with orders already placed have the option to now add one of the three new colours.
Racing Yellow
Black
Miami blue.
people who have not added their options and colours yet will not have the three colours above to choose from and only the standard 4.

Richard I saw this today in the Classic Remise Berlin (in good company as you can see!) and it looked stunning in white so good choice well made Sir!
Cheers Cris , that's quite a showroom - do you think the white was the same colour as your car ? Did it look flat / yellowish or Macleans bright white ? BTW - deal closed on my GT3 today - threw the SWBP in for good measure

Hi Richard. BTW - deal closed on my GT3 today - threw the SWBP in for good measure
Congratulations on the sale of your GT3, I'm sure it will more than pay for the new RS!
Looked very similar to my white 997.2 GTS but it was only viewed through glass as the showroom was closed.
Decisions decisions....

In the picture above I finally saw a look that works for me just the two tones black and white show on the exterior and incorporating the side decals. For me this looks sporty, demands your attention but is not a desperate "look at me". On the interior we have highlights of Orange which supports Porsche`s theme on this models launch but just couldn't go all the way for full Lava Orange interior or exterior.
Thanks to you we have also sorted out the best wheels. The Platinum dark grey was not an option on my previous 997.2 RS so the pictures helped along with other contributors and comments on the standard GT3 wheels.
I've not been lucky enough to get an allocation, but if not silver, i think the above spec would have been my choice. Thanks to you we have also sorted out the best wheels.
