991 GT3 RS - Paint To Sample - Idea's Please

LAVA ; its a bl**by strange colour - I have now seen it 3 times and in some lights it looks properly orange , in others more red - either way it is basically what I'd describe as a flat jelly Bean colour - However , I think I finally "get it" - I now really like it - I think it will become a proper classic RS colour - I'm swapping from White to Lava - its official (well it is today anyway !) The images below are all original un molested (taken on an iPhone) The RS has been detailed by paddy328 and IMHO looks amazing , the others are of a GTS - this is unprepared and un polished - stickers literally just removed - this shows how different Lava can look :

I think you must of been on the booze last night. Have you forgotten how faded Lava Orange looks in sun light. It will always look like a 20 year old guards red. It has no depth or body. Having said that white is pretty boring too. I really want to pop over to Stuttgart and ask the plonker who gave us this limited choice WHY? He will probably answer "because I can"
No , honestly , it isn't - it's just a flat retro jelly bean colour - I didn't get it at first but I think it's "right" for the RS - it's like fungus - it grows on you I think you must of been on the booze last night. Maybe Red is the way to go on this car, looks stunning with all the additional black

Yeah the badging on the 991 is a pet peave of mine.
Even the options Porsche offer aren't great, I believe you can either have 'PORSCHE' or 'PORSCHE 911'.
I like the single 'PORSCHE' word, but would prefer just the specific model as on older models, eg. 'CARRERA 2S'.
I think if I bought a 991 I'd have someone remove and rearrange the badges for me.

Thanks to this thread I have found an exciting look given that Guards Red is not available. Have gone for the Platinum wheels not silver as they are a better match to the rear spoiler bracket finish. [url]WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?
I'm with you. Platinum > Silver wheels.Edited by GR GT2RS on Monday 27th July 22:12
Really liking white, also GT silver cars as pics of delivered cars are emerging. Saw some pics on worldcarfans of a white car with the orange stitching/belts/door straps. Looked great, really lifted the interior.

Richard - having seen both White and Lava in the flesh I would definitely choose the WHITE....
Having said that you're the lucky one with the decision to make....
Hi Chris - as an owner of a white car I get this POV and I may well do just that - will decide in a few weeks - and if my spec locks before driving the PEC car in Lava then so be it - I'll let fate play its part - it's like colour Russian roulette - if however I don't like Lava after this and the spec is still open I'll swap to White , or GTSM or Ultraviolet - lucky for me PTS has been pulled or I'd be running around in circles forever - too much choice for my tiny little mind to deal with Having said that you're the lucky one with the decision to make....
