Just googled Viola and actually found the ad for my car when I sold it back in 2009 weepinghttps://www.classicdriver.com/de/car/porsche/911-9... it looked very dark on overcast days but bright sunshine really lifted the colour

Poor you - that is a stunning car ! I guess Viola is a darker metallic version of Aubergine ?

I have to say I love a colour thread smile

Assume this is Mint - it does look good that - however heavily rendered picture - in real life the mint can look a bit washed out to me smile

Ah great - can you choose one for me please smile
smile Look up Olive Green (code 274) - looks black most of the time, but in light looks a classy Green.

There are many ways people derive pleasure from their cars, some like colours, some don't.

My wife insisted on getting the colour Carbon Black for her BMW X3, it just looked black to me but when its clean and in the sun, there is a night-blue tint to it, it looks really good and i'm glad she insisted.

Similarly, if I was in the fortunate position of being able to spec a brand new Porsche and having the opportunity to choose whichever colour I wanted, I would not go for a colour as boring as plain red or white.

Some great ideas but I am going Riviera Blue I think. Always liked it and now is my chance to get a new mad Porsche in that colour. However, I do have time to change and I always liked Rubystone...and Maritime...and Mexico...and Gulf...

Ah, no worries.

As a side note, I didn't mean to say red or white is a boring colour as if there was a 991 GT3 within my meagre budget in those colours I would snap it up! What I meant was if you was afforded to opportunity to choose any colour you like, then why not go a little crazy?
