No need to be amazed; we all have different tastes at the end of the day Despite the visual presence caused by such colour (which plod takes an interest in too ) I actually felt more self conscious driving round in a Guards Red 981 Cayman S loan car - I thought that everyone would be thinking 'there's another middle aged bloke going through the male menaporsche!'.I agree that an RS lots of visual presence as standard but I derive a lot of personal pleasure knowing that I own something that no one else does i.e. I like individuality.
I remember seeing this 964 in Germany and thinking that looks great. Love the painted roll-cage too (possible future discussion topic). When this baby came up for sale I knew that I had to make the move .

Just for the record - my comment on the blues wasn't clear - I said I didn't want them as they are becoming a standard GT colour - so I can completely understand your post - I in fact didn't mean this , I think they are great cols , I'm just a bit bored of them on a personal level - however Maritime / Voodoo blue still "do it" for me . Also I am fascinated by design and things looking "right" and this is the only reason I'd choose a colour : as if I like it it doesn't matter to me what others think. What I do love is asking people their views though - colour is such a personal and emotive thing - I love th diversity of it and the reactions it creates - everyone has a strong opinion . Either way , I'm loving this thread. I think I've changed my mind on my colour every time I open it. Obviously the only colour I KNOW I want is Aubergine and this is only because I've checked the PTS list and it's not available - joking (not about the availabiry )Edited by RSVP911 on Saturday 20th June 14:18

I'm not sure that theory stands up to scrutiny. Most punters do not like funky colours like mint green so why would anyone buy a colour the vast majority of the population do not like other than because they love it themselves? I made a scale model of a 935 Kremer Porsche when I was 11 and have absolutely loved this colour ever since. This and Moby Dick are my fave Porsches!

yes nothing good ever comes of taking the other halfs opinion! The Kremer green was actually a slightly darker hue. I need to take a 986 S for a blast again to see if ithey really are as good as I remember.OP pls choose a funky colour you like! That Aubergine colour looks the biz - I'd be surprised if Porsche cannot replicate it. Zero risk involved at any level.

Cmoose,
You might be right in some cases. Personally though I love the look of greens and blues. In this instance we chose to match the colour for our kitchen splashback
The one thing I like about trends is that you can decide to buck them
Haha! I couldnt possibly admit to painting one of the walls in my kitchen Viper green. You might be right in some cases. Personally though I love the look of greens and blues. In this instance we chose to match the colour for our kitchen splashback

I mean, what kind of sad idiot would do such a thing?

Zanzibar : (the launch colour for the seminal GT3)
Ferrari yellow (makes Speed yellow look a very dull "brownie" yellow when parked side by side)
Or Porsche Racing yellow :
Riviera : (nicer than Maritime IMO) At a recent Breakfast meet at the Shelsley Walsh hillclimb venue, there were several 991 GT3's, a guards red, a white and a friend's Riviera example, the Red and White cars got barely a second glance, the Riviera car however had numerous admiring glances.
Maritime is non metallic, Audi RS blue (or Nogaro) is a Pearl/Mica colour. Take a look at it close up on a bright day and you can see the fine Mica effect.
Despite what others have said on here previously, it's my understanding that Audi RS blue and Nogaro are one and the same thing. Nogaro is still available on Audi's BTW, I saw a brand new A4 or A6 in an Audi showroom not three weeks ago.
Rubystone might not be available, there's a story behind the one and only Rubystone Mk1 996 GT3 pictured beneath, not sure how true it is is, but if it's to be believed, the factory won't paint a 991 GT3 RS in that hue.
