Got the 997's air con re-gassed & a valve fixed at a well regarded indi 10 months and 5000 miles ago
Just used it today and it was blowing hot - I have been running it with the compressor on the whole time
Indi won't look at it till mid august when they're booking in
I think it's a bit unfair but would be interested in views before I call back & speak to the owner later
It's a 9 year old 997. Hopefully it isn't an early warning of bore scoring. (Joke)

I had a similar problem after new condensors, then going back to get a valve fitted.

It turned out to be the valve that was fitted (under plastic cover, passenger side at bulkhead) had not been tightened up enough allowing gas to leak.

Might be an idea to get it regassed and check what is left in the system. It needs a certain pressure for the compressor clutch to cut in.

I had a similar issue with my 997. Air con blowing hot so got it re-gassed and not long after it was blowing hot again.

Got it checked out and the condensers were both badly damaged with stone chips so this seemed like the likely cause. I had both replaced and also had grills fitted over the vents for extra protection going forward.

Was hoping that would be it but, you guessed it, blowing hot again after a few days. Obviously a leak elsewhere and after some investigation my indy found the general location and it was a toss up between a big section of pipe (expensive) or the seal at the end of it (cheap). Luckily it was the seal and once this was replaced I had no further issues.

Did they put UV dye in?
They should have. And that will help track down the issue. Condensers at the front would be my guess and, after that long, nothing to do with previous work.

Or the pipework front (condensers) to back (compressor). The joints can corrode and leak.
