I fancy a track day toy with flappy paddles. You can keep that stick in the middle as far as I'm concerned that old hat(-:
Anyway, my ultimate car would be the obvious GT3 991, but to be honest I can't help but think looking at the numbers coming up for sale the values are going to slide. I've done the 996 and 997 GT3! So what's my next best option that is readily available, I can't do waiting lists. Cayman perhaps.
Opinions please this isn't about residual as such but I don't want to lose my shirt!

Cheers

Steve

I have a PDK Cayman R and did 250 track miles in at Donington last Saturday - absolutely brilliant.

well with adjustable LCA and a few tweeks may be.

Adjustable LCA?

I am at Combe tomorrow for some kind of Porsche TD, interesting to see what models people are bringing to the track.

As it is going to piss down, no doubt I'll be facing the wrong direction a lot of the time wink

LCA: most probably lower control arm.

OP if a track day toy at the crazy end of the scale is what you are seeking this may interest you:

wink

The new Zenos also looks interesting

I like the idea of a trackday special but I get the feeling you'd have to be handy with the spanners which I'm not unfortunately.
I've got an Exige LF1 at the minute for track days but I want a flappy paddle gearbox!(-:

It may not be a full on race car out of the box but you can't deny it "track car" status and a very good one at that. 250 track miles and it didn't miss a beat. Only by a Radical and a race spec Exige were quicker last Saturday. If I were to make it even more track focussed then it could do with being a bit stiffer but for fun per £ there aren't many auto cars that can deliver quite like a Cayman R PDK.

I am interested to know what would be a better track car strictly "out of the box" especially taking the requirement for flappy paddles.

Lovely car the Exige wink
My car is most likely more reliable than a stock RS as it has 120kg or so less to worry about and many systems deactivated. I only get involved with the spanners as I'm a little strange in that respect wink there is no extra servicing required than a stock car. If you need paddles you need paddles, good luck in your search wink

Exilge V6 has to be the best bang for buck for a track day car, but if you need paddles........

What about the new Evora 400S with IPS. Ok it's a slush box and on the old car was a tad slow to change from paddle shift to actual change of gear, but on the new car it's much better (although not PDK levels) . Also faster than your car round Hethel track.

Review here http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/lotus/evora/92275/lot...

0-60 in 4.1 secs and 186mph, can't be too far off a 991 GT3 at half the price of a 2 year old model ? BTW I do think the 991 GT3 is the nuts, at list price, however not the 2ns hand prices.

Should get a good trade in too , with a sought after LF model.

interesting .... have to say I fancy one, was impressed when i first drove it

i expect the lighter cup car on nitrons is at least 10% better again in terms of dynamics/suspension etc.

shame the cup R with teh paddles isn't road legal
