wont be a lightened 911R , nor a GT5. Just dont think Porsche have it in them. they got the market wrapped up, with the 991, GTS and Turbo + GT3.

Alot of the money is in the options, so why the hell would they launch a poverty spec delete option model that may steal sales from the other models.

Just isnt happening.

Happy to own a Cayman R and an SC tbh, none of the latest offerings interest me. I Live in Norway and a 991 GT3 is just useless here with our roads, britain is the same going by my visits there.

I feel like Im the only guy in the world knowing this, but someone once told me the best Porches are not the skitterish bone hard GT models or the hoover-sound continent-crushing Turbos.

Its the boggo carreras, for the sound, the allround userfriendlyness that you can actually use on a variety of roads.

I wish a GT5 model were coming, but I doubt it.

For the moment though, nothing to replace my Cayman R. Passive dampers, NA engine, Manual gearbox. im good.

Well that's strange, OPC called me and asked if I wanted to put my LOI in for a 991R, 4ltr, 500 bhp, manual, and I'm now on the list smile

Couldn't have put it better - the talk of a manual car in the face lift model is where I'm looking now !

Not sure how you determine who should get one though? I'm sure a lot who are getting one initially are "enthusiasts". It's pretty simple really, just don't buy into the hype and all the "sorry sir you are not getting one" BS from the dealers. Seems the demand is there from people who have to have one now but that will abate when there's a bit more supply and Porsche have moved on to something better, which they absolutely will have to do. I'd have one tomorrow at list but I'm not paying overs and if that means I never get one, so be it.

The sport classic was sold at a whopping premium over the standard car, even more than a turbo s at the time I think. The so called R I'm hearing is going to be something along the likes of that so it wouldn't be a surprise if it was a decent clip more expensive than the RS or turbo s now. And it's supposedly going to be really limited so I can't imagine anyone struggling to get the RS would have a hope in hell of getting one of those.....

That must be the most expensive 911 ever. Heck of a lot of money for a 911.

IMLA ur not alone in telling that shop what a waste of space they are ...........in writing in ,very clear terms , like bought loads new from them , been a customer since many years ,contributed to their displays with Classics ...........promised everything from 'halo' range ,never ever seemed to come close .................prize quote 'what other porsches have u owned '
started with 2 , 2.7 rs ,3.0 rs couple of 993 gt2 s ............just hopeless and pointless, leaves a very sour taste ...........i don't believe would ever have happened in days of Perry Rob .........warm friendly guy ,effectively founder and principal even when Porsche took over

Karma.

I actually reached out to Mark Goody the new dealer principal at OPC Hatfield but unfortunately we couldn't find overlap.

I unfortunately got a bit shirty in the end and told him that to have another customers personal private/confidential information discussed openly by his staff in suits with all the sartorial elegance of Worzel Gummidge is very poor form and unprofessional. I was much more direct than this.

I hope Mark sees the nonsense on this thread from cgt2. I can't think of a single reason why someone would be such a card and post such complete and utter tosh on a public forum other than nastiness/trolling.

cgt2 perhaps has close links or is connected to OPC Hatfield? yesscratchchin

OT be careful who you lend your pride and joys to. There’s journos on here who would sell stories about their Mothers for a quid.

For anyone wanting to know what’s going on just look at pages 3,4 and 5. It’s disgraceful.

I have a feeling we won't be hearing from cgt2 cough Mr OPC Hatfield for a while rofl I also think OPC Hatfield may be checking their own internal server data to see if he's one of theirs!

Unbelievable if correct re OPC Hatfield. I've never had an apology as far as I'm aware just had some guy tell me he'd be happy to sell me another Porsche! I kind of thought thats very nice of you lol!

One other bit of trickery I didn't mention in this tale is when I saw the damage and offered to pay an agreed figure instantly with the sales manager he tried to call me back later and charge me double the figure ie £10k even after he shook hands on £5500 for it to be the end of the matter?! This is for a front end respray in 2013! Fastlane (OPC Porsche Approved in those days but no longer) used to charge me £400 per panel! Do the maths......

The £28,000 bid on my manual 997 turbo with brand new engine to swap for a new 991 turbo s back in the day was far too low. I'm so naive maybe I was bid a low figure because one of their staff wanted my old banger now I read through all this again? Never even crossed my mind before I just assumed a 59k mile manual 997 turbo wasn't for them. Glad I spend 80% of my time in the UAE nowadays. Completely different customer service levels. Warm too smile
