To be honest, before we spent 20 odd hours machine polishing it, it looked a bit wishy washy, not orange enough to me. I don't think its ever going to be like the orange on the 997 gt3rs, but it did darken it a bit and add more depth to the paint.
It'll look fantastic on the sales court at £300k next week. Top work !Mermaid said:

Hi MTR - its a bl**by strange colour - I have now seen it 3 times and in some lights it looks properly orange , in others more red - either way it is basically what I'd describe as a flat jelly Bean colour - I think I finally "get it" - I now really like it - I think it will become a proper classic RS colour - I'm swapping from White to Lava - its official (well it is today anyway !) The images below are all original un molested (taken on an iPhone) The RS has been detailed by paddy328 and IMHO looks amazing , the others are of a GTS - this is unprepared and un polished - stickers literally just removed - this shows how different Lava can look - Edited by RSVP911 on Friday 24th July 23:01

There are others who will have a cardiac attack.
Non-club sport, leather replacing Alcantara - hardly an optimum spec RS that would command top money!DT398 said:
What, so £3-5k to fit a cage and a few hundred quid to put alcantara on the wheel and it's pretty close. The pricing on these cars is way less sensitive to spec as they will be so rare. Comfort spec 991 GT3s on the other hand.........
I am told (from a good source) that retro fitting a cage invalidates warranty - this may be rubbish though - sounded odd to me DT398 said:

Have no fear, the owner won't be selling it. I think he prefers it to his 918!
I think this is where these first GT3RS cars are coming from. Porsche 918 owners had the option and a priority and some are getting theirs now and moving them on. I don`t think any dealer has received one in the UK yet for a (non 918) normal customer. I think most of us are on an October and November build slot.Generally Porsche are pretty good at getting the cars to people with ownership track records. Of course there is always the odd car that gets to the horse traders and into the hands of the unworthy but that's life.
