Yes same chap but I've never bought a car from OPC Hatfield. Always buy from another OPC as I've always found Hatfield a bit sterile -not sure why. My wife damaged it going past a gritter at 140 leptons and I paid for the damage which I wasn't obliged to do so not sure why she nearly lost her job. With hindsight wish I'd not accepted their offer and bit peeved when I later found out that they have telling people we took the car to a track day. I actually pulled them up on this. Its a shyte sales operation at Hatfield IMO
Just going by what I was told but she loaned you a brand new 991 Turbo S when she apparently did not qualify you properly as a 991 Turbo buyer and as you confirm above you had no intention of buying a car. She was finding her feet as a new salesperson and when the car was returned damaged it caused quite a stink as clearly the £100k jump from an old 997 into a new Turbo was beyond your means (they felt) and she should not have loaned you the car. There are always two sides to a story but the damage certainly caused her a lot of pain at work. What new Porsches have you bought from other OPC's? And is it wise to state you were doing 140 Leptons on an internet forum?? Hmmm I think your view of them is equalled by their view of you so it's mutual!
All you're doing is harming the reputation of Hatfield OPC and coming across like a wker.
Seems that IMI A is simply setting the record straight and correcting the false allegations that have been made.

IMI A, time to stop digging.
I dont think hes dug anything.Hes been called out on a public form about his finances and 'private' exchanges with a dealship.
off topic, needs to stop.
Surprised Evo posted this, I think they might have read it here and then jumped on the bandwagon. That's what you get when you have a website that now needs to fill the pages like others do having been neglected for so long. Who are these new people?
Having said that the magazine and youtube are still excellent.

FWIW my sympathies lie with OPC Hatfield on this one and to a certain extent I agree with the sentiment but not necessarily the content of a few PH member posts admonishing me as I really shouldn't have said anything online.
I'd love to know what PH members criticising me would have done in a similar situation as it was not of my making other than choosing my wife lol as my other half.
I should not care one jot whether Hatfield believe I can or cannot buy a 991 turbo S - I currently own ten cars from bangers to the latest and greatest. Having said that I was not born with a trust fund and appreciate the value of money and am not one for throwing money down a drain. By way of example I still own cars which I bought new as far back as 2002!
I stand by my comments re Hatfield as a sales operation and have hand on heart tried at least to make the best of a very bad situation...If thats not good enough for the cyber world where everyone has an opinion sometimes not to ones own liking so be it - I can live with that

I expect if someone offers them £225k will get the attention of the salesman
That would buy the car with change to spare. If they get close to 200k both the dealer and the speculator have done very well.

Apologies if I misunderstood, but where did you meet this R Lane? Was it at the Hatfield OPC where all your experience seems to have been emanating from?
I only know of two (2) Richard Lanes selling Porsches - one of them should be (used to be when I heard of him last) at the East Sussex OPC and I have no idea how "wonderful" (or not) he may be. The other one happens to have been working for over 25 years at what is today Porsche West London and is, indeed, a superb Porsche sales executive and, above all, a person of strong ethics and integrity.

Yep one of the things that was so obviously wrong and yet evo who purport to be knowledgeable about cars had no qualms about putting that in. Ridiculous...although i suppose if Nick Trott is willing to buy mine for £400k I'd be happy to oblige him......Doubtful!

Can't see them dropping it by one third, but then again I can't see many people willing to pay 300k for one either!
If they get close to 200k both the dealer and the speculator have done very well.
When you say "you can't see" can you clarify, if this is based on your speaking with people with that sort of money to spend on a car, so it is informed, or just more speculation? If they get close to 200k both the dealer and the speculator have done very well.

There's 3 LHD ones under €360k, I know dealers love to talk up prices but come on!Now the new 991 GT3RS is kicking around I can't see the 997 GT3 RS maintaining such silly values as previously. The 4lt novelty has subsided somewhat. Also, as per the car in the ad linked above- they look fairly rubbish with those white wheels- the new RS looks substantially better. I can't afford either so I shall forget about it for now.the latest model will not be a low number run like 28 997 C16 cars.. but more importantly will the new 4L engine last more than five minutes?

Some say they have been offered it for a lot lower than the asking price already!
The market for this car is very very small in the uk, it's not as if there will be thousands of people trying to buy it.
I have been a customer of dick lovett for a number of years and so have a number of my friends and we all know they can be a little greedy at times.
We all know what's coming next, new gt3 rs owners will be talking prices up.
Aren't you soon to be a new gt3 rs owner?
Yes of course they have put it up for some fantasy number. But the question is whether somebody will pay it and it may be too soon to say they won't. People paying 300+ for a 4.0 997RS RHD is certifiable insanity imo so who knows. It will go for much more than 200 though, unless they struggle with the spec.
And sure you know I have an RS coming. Equally, when talking of prices, aren't you interested in a GT3 or did I get that wrong?
