I have a feeling it's one of those situations where if you need to ask the price then you can't afford it:

OPCS really need to take a good look at themselves IMO. I can guarantee this was a sale to a mate on a prearranged deal. I was not bothered my OPC did not let me have one as £140-150k with a few options a lot of money and I'm happy to keep my cash but FFS sell them to people who will use them rather than flip them.
Having said that the car looks amazing in silver.
I agree its disappointing but if you DID get a slot and you DID get a car and after driving it for a weekend you realised you didn't like it (it does happen) then should you not be able to sell it? If not then why not? Having said that the car looks amazing in silver.
I must admit that if I had one and paid 135k and someone came along and offered me 295k then I would snap their hand off!

The snag is just how do you enforce and design that penalty. In the USA it's common for dealers to sell new Porsches above list.
Not that common actually. It is mostly confined to Southern California dealers who don't get a wrist slap from PCNA because the local market is huge.I have to say that considering, quite rightly IMO, that there has been a lot of complaints from people buying them for lack of colour choice that car looks great in silver. Shows off the RS "bits" quite nicely. I think I prefer the dark struts on the rear spoiler as well compared to the silver.
I'll have to pop down to the OPC and see what they will offer me as trade in on my Astra Sports Tourer.

Fair enough but we all know this absolutely isn't the case here; it is a pre-arranged deal for both the OPC and customer allocated a slot to make a very quick, very large profit. At the expense I may add of genuine buyers such as myself who couldn't get a slot. Fast putting me off the Porsche brand tbh, but others are sadly no different.mdianuk said:

Malton Porsche?Given their (natural) focus on profit it makes you wonder why Porsche don't come up with a scheme to retain more of these premiums for themselves eg put the first 50 slots up for auction?
I know there are holes in any such scheme and this goes against the grain of what enthusiasts want but I just find it surprising that the HQ are not going after some of this premium that seems to be inevitable for every GT/RS launch! Still, no different to Ferrari et al.

I doubt many of us would have kept one of these for long given the opportunity to make that much on it. I'd flip it purely based on the way it looks, looks like a 991 GT3-RipSpeed to me with all that wing and plastic.
+1It looks a speed machine- but for sure- I don't think anyone could argue that the huge rear spoiler enhances the looks......the bog standard 991 has nicer lines that's for sure. But, with such performance and hype most Porsche enthusiasts would still want a GT3RS even if Porsche had for some reason fixed a dog basket on the rear wing.

To be honest, before we spent 20 odd hours machine polishing it, it looked a bit wishy washy, not orange enough to me. I don't think its ever going to be like the orange on the 997 gt3rs, but it did darken it a bit and add more depth to the paint.
It'll look fantastic on the sales court at £300k next week. Top work !Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
