I've been looking for a track toy come weekend hoon car and no matter what I look at all roads lead back to 991 GT3.
I'd like a CS spec car but wondered what questions I should be asking about the history of the car, I know many have had engine changes under warranty so should I look for one with a new engine or not. Are there any must have options etc?
I know nobody likes talking about residuals and nobody knows in reality but if I'm paying 130-140k for a car what would you budget to lose in say 12months and 5k miles.

Cheers

Steve
Nobody knows regarding pricing, but I know of 4 that have been bought in the last month - all will be used as you also intend and all are happy owners - including me that bought 2 months ago - it is an amazing car...

Must have options for me were

lift, leather dash, heated seats (comfort spec with adaptive sports seats - which are very good by the way), but the most important option is....

A Sharkwerks Muffler Bypass - transforms the sound and makes it sound like it should have from the factory smile

Exige or GT3... pardon my ignorance but your post came after Exige discussion!

Either way an expensive disappointment

Agreed with the sharkwerks bit, really does complete the car and sounds factory, not too loud.

Would not wait to long, easy to see prices going back up for right cars, ie CS, CCBDs, lift, along with no Gen 2s? in 991 Platform. Genuinley don't think the GT3s will ever see list for a very very long time... if at all...

This guys not a million miles away, I have been watching these for some time and most cars have been for sale for a very long time.

Some say they are losing as much as 3k a week at the moment. Very few cars have sold over the last few months.

Now may not be the best time to buy if you are worried about future values.
)

I drove one a couple of weeks back,it's list price was 125k (mega spec) ,the dealer wanted 160k for it.they were selling it for a client who had just paid 165k for it,he was expecting to sell it for 180k ,but the dealers told him they had no joy with them at over 160k .
Car had 500 miles and had already had 4 owners,it had just been traded repeatedly for a profit.

Until the Gen 2 is announced then watch them dive.

Just think about it logically, the GT3 imv has always been about evolution, ie the 996-997, and onto the 991GT3, the 991GT3 again imv, skips a couple of generation's over the 997GT3.

In the short time that I have had in the 991RS, I would say that from a % point in "the round" the RS is about 20% up on the 991GT3, whist this may not sound a lot anyone that has driven a 991GT3 will understand that this is a massive gain....

According to press the RS runs to next spring, any Gen 2 in the 991 GT3, would have to put it above the RS from an evolution point...or why bother?

Just don't see it happing....at least not in 991........

IMHO

Coming up to 2 years old now, and still holding what 30-40% above list, depending how the RS settles from a used point, can see em going back to 175k for Low miles CS with right spec ......For me like I said 2nd best driving car I have ever owned driven...

It's unfortunate that we are seeing yet another generation of cars that will sadly go into collections or become garage queens and remain virtually un driven while mileage paranoia takes over as with the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini etc.
It has for me was always been a major attraction with Porsche that a car with 100k miles on it was not unusual and still deemed worth having. Where as I fore see lots of GT3's sub 10k miles for years to come , especially Rs's, which will artificially hold the market up and stop people driving the bloody things.
The world's gone mad!

Hi, this was a 991.

Although judging by a youtube search of "DN12" there was an exige there that had multiple drivetrain issues as well !
