I keep reading that the RS red line is lower to preserve the engine.
It is not...

How about showing the car at your home along with your other cars, that picture could be anywhere?

I've been looking for a track toy come weekend hoon car and no matter what I look at all roads lead back to 991 GT3.
I'd like a CS spec car but wondered what questions I should be asking about the history of the car, I know many have had engine changes under warranty so should I look for one with a new engine or not. Are there any must have options etc?
I know nobody likes talking about residuals and nobody knows in reality but if I'm paying 130-140k for a car what would you budget to lose in say 12months and 5k miles.

Cheers

Steve
991 isn't a trackcar ... it's a mid-engined limo that wipes yer bum and does turndown service at 5pm

I suppose residual wise you could be right and they could stay well above list, but just as you where wrong with regards to the 996gt3 Rs prices, I think in this case you'll be wrong also, but time will tell.

Did you change the engine on the 996 more than 3 times then?

No, but I changed everything else and then got out when the gearbox went!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got very used to sitting in the waiting room at Tech9.

The engine swap thing is no biggie, just a little inconvenience that is all forgotten as soon as you get back in the car.

My guess is Porsche have nailed it now and I am looking forward to the thousands of exhilarating miles ahead smile

Bemused by the lack of concern on number of engine swaps here. How much confidence will buyers have once these cars are out of warranty ? Not sure how much an engine costs to replace in a 991 GT3 but remember seeing an invoice for over £40k for one replaced in a 997 GT3 RS.

BTW I think the GT3 is an amazing car, before people think I'm a hater wink

The warranty issue is my concern as well. If new ones were still about I'd be there like a shot. Think I'll try for a Cayman GT4, a lesser car maybe but I'd cope (-:

The 9A1 even in gt3 form likely costs a lot less than the old mezger unit in the 6/7 gt3.
