Am I crazy buying a 991 gts now ?
Discussion
I had one of these for the afternoon last week. Majestic. I don't know if they all have buckets and alcantara steering wheel. The one I drove did along with PDK. You'd be bonkers to want manual after savouring that. I drove it back to back with a 991 Targa which, whilst feeling good in isolation, felt heavy, leaden and bloated in comparison. The car I tried also had the Burmesiter audio which is the best audio set up I've ever experienced in a car. If I had the means I'd have a 991 GTS. You could keep that forever and I don't think the experience would get old. One of the most exciting cars I've ever driven.
Just reviving an old thread from end last year. The values of 991 GTS' have gone up and I don't think its just the summer buzz.
It seems that you could have a nice GTS with barely any miles from a dealer for about 90k whereas now you will be paying in the 100's for such a car.
Must be to do with the 997 GTS creeping up to 65 - 70k plus and also the demise of the N'A engine.
I drive a GTS yesterday, wow what a howl they make. With the 991.2 GTS being a turbo (I think?) this could make of a good buy right now.
Will be interesting to see what happens to values when the 991.2 GTS appears soon as we've seen them being tested.
One things for sure, you'll be running out of revs at 6500 rpm and they'll sounds crap in comparison.

The noise is superb. Really addictive. The noise sealed the deal for me!It seems that you could have a nice GTS with barely any miles from a dealer for about 90k whereas now you will be paying in the 100's for such a car.

Nobody doubts it's a good engine. Just not as good as the previous one!
I agree x 1000, IMO. But it's only us petrol heads that have grown up with and driven previous models that will miss the 'previous' engine/s. Those new to the brand will be loving the new 3.0 turbo units. I've driven it and don't like it. I don't think Porsche will be worried.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
