I'm thinking about buying a used 991 gts but I have reservations considering the new gen 2 991 will be out in a few months .should I wait for the new car?

You could wait, but then the 992 will be out, but then the 992.2, by which time there will be spy shots of the 994.......

I recently bought a 997GTS and drove the 991GTS too. I was offered 10k off the 991 as it was in stock but the 30k price difference is still too wide given an impending new 991v2. Epic car though.

The 991 GTS NA engine is sublime and sounds wonderful- won't the future equivalent be a turbo?
I'd just pull the trigger now- not loads of 991 GTS kicking around so depreciation should be slightly better than the standard Carrera models....

I have a 991 GTS, a PDK on standard PASM suspension. I love it - The noise and performance increase from the engine powerkit is noticeable, especially at the top end.

It looks great, and I'm sure the gen 2 991 GTS will be great too when it arrives in around 2018...!

yes but the 991.2 car is out in 2 months ! the 992 car will be 4 years away, you can see he has a point no ?

991 GTs prob the best car in the line up though and in Carmine red with sport design pack is a nice thing and faster than the GT4.

Yes, that is the issue. With Porsche, you could just end up never making a decision because there's always another car around the corner.

Which is considered THE GTS to have, the Carrera GTS or Carrera 4 GTS?

Don't know, that's why I'm asking? Surely all wheel drive a better all round car? Welcome opinions!

4's have never sold that well in the UK. more weight, less room etc etc

997 GTS in 4WD seem to hang about for sale also.

Can't see any benefit personally. If you want all weather ability then a RWD with winter tyres will get anywhere clearance allowing.

Surely 4wd + winter tyres is even better?

Why? RWD 911's have rallied very succesfully over the years, there is a large advantage having that engine slung out back you know!

And for 95% of the time you are lugging around extra weight for nothing. Just my opinion, others will vary I'm sure.

I back to back drove a c2s and c4s in pouring rain, the c4 was much better imo in those conditions , but the c2s is impressive in the wet .

Can they still be ordered new, or has that ship now sailed? Not many with a manual gearbox, wonder if they'll do better in the longer run, still not wishing to switch to PDK if I can help it!

Better in what way? Genuinely interested.
