& will likely continue for the next few years at historically low rates - that's the Fed forecast. Once we have a fast slowing economy (too much scope globally, though the US is doing fine), and Bonds are suggesting that, then we will see the fire sales that will be the major realignment.Sam All said:

But its a free market and that is the leveller. Always has been and we are not talking of a handful or less in numbers.Legacywr said:
Market watch, for my cars.
There have never been so many 964 turbo 3.6's for sale! Mainly LHD, and most have been on the market for a while!
TVR Sagaris, only 2,for sale in the classifieds, did the others sell, or were they withdrawn? I believe they are still strong, as I got a good bid from a dealer on mine.
Good Mk1 Escorts are still on the rise.
have been watching Sagaris on and off and they do seem to sell - at least you regularly see posts by people who bought one of the cars for sale. very few cars around too I think. Such lovely things, test drove one when they were new, but did not have enough free cash available. There have never been so many 964 turbo 3.6's for sale! ...and this is the reason why some people think that the market might well correct back to a level closer to the pricing point a few years ago once something happens that makes the asset class cars less appealing (as opposed to making the car less appealing to an enthusiast) - eg an increase in interest, less disposable income, dropping real estate prices, the introduction of CGT on car sales etc.
CGT on car sales will not happen, for then they will have to allow losses and these will wipe out gains comfortably.MDL111 said:

A few months ago, the cheapest 993s were probably around 30-32K.
Today there are at least 2-3 examples of 27-28k on both AutoTrader and Pistonheads. I think there is a small movement in the prices unless suddenly a few owners did not dump their unloved-leaky cars in the market?
( I have also seen a few 997.1 recently, about 1-2k slashed from their asking prices)

No nothing 100% but if you've bought a lot of cars you can get it right more times than you get it wrong with genuine mileage defo. LHD wouldn't suit me I'm afraid. WTF do I do when ordering a Big Mac at a drive through?!Edit think I'm going to have to give the 993 a miss as been waiting forever and buy a 997 GT3 mk 2 instead.

Just out of interest, why does it have to be a low mileage one?Edit think I'm going to have to give the 993 a miss as been waiting forever and buy a 997 GT3 mk 2 instead.

As far as I can see, there are two sub 30K 993s on PH. One is a 151k mile tiptronic, the other a CAT C Targa with 120K miles under her belt. They would never have been 30K plus. Hardly a balanced view of the market IMO. Today there are at least 2-3 examples of 27-28k on both AutoTrader and Pistonheads. I would say the same thing while driving around Europe. Never ever ditch your travel-companion after Eurotunnel as you do not want to be alone while ordering some fries at a drive through in Paris. The bubble is going to burst big time for everything, IMO.
The great cars will be affected, but may recover to an extent over time.
The poorer cars never will.
Cheap borrowing is fine, but you still have to pay it back,
which is going to cause problems for some.
