Is the bubble about to burst?
Discussion
I think new cars like GT4 & 981 Spyder after the mad buying rush for those who never got a new one bought cars hugely over list are probably people that could afford to go the extra over list prices.
But the market has slowed down and prices have softened I can see these prices lowering in the next few months to attract people who can afford or want nearer to list prices.
Older models might stay similar to what they are now .
Models like the 987 Spyder and Cayman R are steady climbers.
Only my opinion of course from what I am seeing in the market.

I hope you're right on the 981 I am hoping to wait until they land at sensible prices. I would agree with you on the 987 as well but having looked at a couple 3 years ago and not taken the plunge they have not shifted as much as I would have thought in that time so might mean they is more value in them over time. But the market has slowed down and prices have softened I can see these prices lowering in the next few months to attract people who can afford or want nearer to list prices.

I missed the boat by a couple of years when I got the 997.2 GT3 earlier this year but thought it better be now or never. And I have to say my trusty old 996 C4S still makes me smile every time I take it out and has to be one of the rare bargains out there at the moment at not much more than 25k for a good one. Might never make me much money but I don't care it's a keeper anyway!
Well let's hope so for the 981 it's way over priced for a new car not got a problem with cars above list that have been around a few years but really hacks me off seeing cars flipped within a couple of months for 30/40 k over. Really did these people ever want the car in the first place.
Only my thoughts of course we all see things differently and have our own ideas.

Yes, the 3.6T, I don't use it, I have too many cars, and I do prefer my oval badge cars
there's an auction of high end aircooled including a 964 Turbo S coming up on 7th Sep at Sotherbys. That should help give an indication of the market. Couple of well known porsche specialist dealers have mentioned to me a few months back that the mkt is very quiet for these kind of cars, not getting the level of enquiries they were getting say last year. but that discussion was pre Brexit before the £ tanked...Alpinestars said:

From memory, that spec would have been mid 120s. PCCBs, lift, etc. Digga said:
So about 20% premium on an OPC, low-mileage example of a car money simply cannot buy new. It's no bargain, but it's not a 'bubble' either IMHO, not that I am in that rarefied market.
Agreed. The very low miles (matters to some) sets it apart from some of the others. I still think it might take a while to shift. Alpinestars said:

Someone nearly as daft, but considerable wealthier than me will be along soon to ask nicely if they might be allowed buy it. Please. Thank you.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
