It appears we are already better off post Brexit? Can we expect the car/housing market start to move again?

Agree.

It's happening already. My mates son has a 'black box' fitted as a prerequisite for his car insurance. My mate and the insurance company can check his sons driving style and speed etc.

It will be game over pretty soon.

And all kids drive nearly new cars too; so develop fewer mechanical skills.

Where are all the future petrolheads punching banger-sized holes in hedges these days?

Buh-buh-buuuuuuuuh - the doom-mongers have spoken! ;-)

I'm quite sure as soon as Insurers start insisting on black boxes for everyone, you will find little Indonesian men offering 'enhanced' tracking apparatus to protect your immodesty driving

Which will be followed by someone going to jail for fraud.

Big brother nanny state.

Sportscars are quite naff, when driven through cities for attention.

But put someone behind the wheel of a nice car, on the right road on a nice day and even the most anti-petrolhead would find it hard not to enjoy their brief moment of pleasure.
I know it's not a Porsche (although a 993 makes an appearance a minute later) - but how can the nanny state deprive people of this: https://youtu.be/JHcyVXq8GUw?t=646 as I said before, there are far worse things they should be nannying before they come after the petrolheads!

£208k for the 4.0 rs lhd with 28k on the clock. Nice buy for someone who is happy to use it as its meant to be.

The 512 also looked a good buy at £208k, I would imagine a dealer would be asking £300k plus for a car with that mileage.

IMO this shows if cars are priced right people are willing to buy

For me the 930 Turbo at £170k was the standout - you can buy better cars for significantly less from a main dealer (see Dick Lovett Swindon) - what on earth possessed someone to drop this kind of money on auction stock?...

That 512 is a terrible buy IMO. The last and truly ugliest version of the 512 IMO. They just sit on forecourts at £300k just like the did when they were £50-60k.

This however whilst expensive is a super purchase. Haven't seen a low mileage Quattro 20v for sale for well over 15 years

That is beautiful. Hell of a price, but beautiful.

Around '89, I was a poor engineering student and topped up my finance during the holidays delivering pizzas in my (death trap) Mk1 XR2. This being a time of economic difficulty (15% interest rates etc.) there was another guy doing the same job, to top up the pay from driving a JCB during they day. He had a quattro - not 100% sure whether 20v or not, but it sounded immense.

In those days, before speed cameras, you could actually earn decent money if you were swift and knew the town. Drivers did not hang about! I can remember being behind the car on the way out and also returning to base a few times; awesome racket.
