£67K was their asking which I paid when I bought it from them, they've not had it this time around

I think it's at least got a slow puncture.

Why go to the hassle of trying to sell it privately????

His trade bids are obviously a lot lower than his new 66k asking price.

Markets changed you only have to look at the amount of cars which have sat unsold for the best part of 6 months.

The only cars which are selling are quality cars at sensible prices.

It's not really a hassle, I'd arranged to be away from the office today already, so fielding calls and emails from home is no biggie smile

Though i believe he is getting a GT4 on Saturday which I hope softens the blow a fair bitsmile
It's funny, several of the people who have contacted me in the last hour or 2 expressing interest think that! Actually, since this was only ever an occasional car for weekends etc, I'm going the full mental and getting a Caterham 620R and using the leftovers to do up my mum's flat. If I'm not going to use a car much, I might as well get the sh** scared out of me when I do hehe
A Caterham 620R is a fine choice. Part of me is swaying towards heading down the 7 route again.

Be sure to post some pics when it arrives! smile

I reeeeeally fancy building one as well, maybe when I've had my fill of terror from the 620R and we've moved to a place with the garage space, I'll get a 270 or similar and put it together myself smile I've assembled radio control cars before....how hard can it be?!

I'm guessing your trade bid is at the high end of 50k if you are trying to sell it privately for 66k?

I'll post up what trade bids I had when the car sells, until then, you'll have to wait in suspense tongue out

Looks like a great car and price to me Marco. Would love it if I had the spare cash.

Whether or not prices go down in the short term, it'll surely go up again in time so anyone in it for the long term will do fine.

Best of luck.

It's a tempting proposition given that I'm currently care-less (except for a stinking BMW touring dog carrier!), until my GT4 arrives in February (ish!), and a Defender I have on order arrives December / January.

I'd have to sell before the GT4 arrives though and I could get caught out in deepest winter!!

So while we're on it, any crystal ball owners care to comment on the march of the 928?

Bloody predictive text - I meant, CAR-LESS!

I've a hankering for a 964 or 993 as I've never owned an air-cooled Porsche. But I'm confused by the huge bandwidth of their pricing. I don't know what does or doesn't represent a good buy and the potential for hidden problems is also a worry.

Feel like I've exhausted the Boxster option. I've owned a few over the years....986, 987.1 3.2 and 3.4 and a couple of Spyders.

Look forward to the surprise, I'm sure any genuine gt3 buyer will be knocking at your door trying to strike a deal as I type!

Good luck with the sale

What makes a nice 964/993 though?

If it's lower mileage then it's big money, if it's higher mileage does that make it a shed?

The bodywork on mine is damn good, no scuttle rust (it's been done) and lovely equal panel gaps, yet there's a few light scratches on one wing where something has rubbed along it and small other imperfections through use all over her. The paints worn away on the leading lower edge of the rear PU where 22 years of gravel off the road has taken the paint away, is that a good sign of originality (as it was for me) or a sign that the car hasn't been looked after well.
What about history and number of owners? Mines had including it being registered a demo three owners, the history on it is full OPC from new mainly at the original supplying dealer. This year she had a £7000 suspension rebuild.
She is a. Manual NB C2 993 with sports seats and working aircon yet she's covered 131k miles.

So what would make her a good or bad buy? Bad buy because of the original certified but 'high' mileage? Bad buy because of the original (mainly) paint? Good buy because of her history? Good buy because of low and long ownership? Good buy because I have spent a fortune on her to keep the driving experience tip top. Bad buy because it's not in concourse condition.

She is sat in my drive at the mo, getting wet but coming up to be secure parked up for winter, she is no garage queen but I wouldn't swap her for a lower mileage more pristine paint example, as you have no idea what lies beneath the shine and the mileage.
