The car didnt hit reserve, £69100....
Around 35% up on what it would have been a couple of years ago! but strangely (at least in my head) sounds like sensible money. I saw a 996 gen 2 GT3 (similar miles) sell for similar money (all be it that was a CS)

I'd say that was an ambitious reserve for a 'trade' auction.

2007 'comfort', 27k mls, marmite black, no pccbs - surely retail can't be much more?

Wow, I only paid £67k for a 2007 GT3 comfort, exactly 5 years ago, when it only had 5k miles on the clock!

I'm with you on this. I've been tracking them for some months, including private sales of ones with nicer specs (in my mind- I know it's personal). I think 65 would have been closer. There were some posts a couple of months ago that pointed to trade bids being a few grand lower than 65 so if the goal was to shift it then I think the reserve was definitely ott.

I hate black. Hardly proof of anything but true.

Marmite black colour each to there own. It suits my car I like it anyway.

Some cars suit certain colours better than others.

+1 it's a PITA to keep clean.

Certainly doesn't suit the 997.1 GT3 which looks better in colours which show off it's curves!

'Basalt' is metallic black, which I think is slightly better, but I do recall, when I was looking at GT3s, that there were quite a few black ones in the classifieds that were slow to sell. Personal choice, obviously.

Black is a popular colour for a turbo, but not so popular for a GT!

Black is a very difficult colour to look after, but if you like washing cars and are good at it, or are happy to pay a man who does, then so what? I think turbos and GTs look pretty good in the colour, other models less so.

Anyway, you're all wrong, Marmite's brown. It's the jar that's black.

Exactly - dark colours hide the shape of a car, and light ones accentuate the glorious curves on a 911.

Black is difficult to keep clean. It's never been a marmite colour. That surely refers to colours like green, yellow and other less mainstream choices.

Correct, just look at how a high a percent of cars are black.

Just as a quick heads up the car sold for £72k, looks like the buyer increased their bid

I think 'black' definitely defines 'marmite' - you either love it or hate it.

Did the eventual sale price include the Buyer's Premium?

I quite like black - I don't love it mind, just quite like it. There are definitely colours that are much more 'marmitey' than black.
