If you're referring to the white one that was posted on here a few weeks ago, I thought it had been confirmed that this had been crashed first (an owner's over-exuberant son?!) and this was the cause of the fire?

Also, from the discussions on Rennlist, there is a 'story' behind the purple car so not quite as straightforward as it appears - something to do with the owner refusing to have the car / engine go back to Germany for inspection, and the fact that the engine hadn't been run in at all.

This could all be internet rumour, but worth beating in mind!!

I'm not going to criticize you for defending your car as others often do, it's a great car and I'd love one, one question for you though as you are clearly a 991GT3 megafan, are you going to be happy keeping it once out of warranty.

Astonishing if true. Looks like the lower redline didn't help.

1. The article is about the GT3 RS (I don't own an RS so nothing to do with my car.

2. I've not 'defended' anything, just pointed out some additional information about these cars!

I kept my last 911 for 8 years, always under Porsche warranty and would expect to do the same for my GT3 (unless I trade it in for the manual 991.2 GT3 in a couple of years....)

A question for you - why is providing more information about the topic under discussion considered to be 'defending' anything??

Perhaps you can enlighten us as to what happened, given you've already made a judgement?!

Thank you for the clear and concise answer, you clearly live in a parallel universe.
