Can anyone tell me what all of the switches that sit on the bank in front of the gearlever on a 944 should be. I've got one missing and I'm not sure what it should be. A pic would be great.

Cheers

No, they're to the right of the steering wheel.

From left to right, mine are :
sunroof, rear wiper, side mirrors, central locking, nothing (cap), front headlights height adjustment (optional).

Perhaps it's only a cap that is missing on your car, not a switch. Caps can be easily found new.

if your car has (or had) the factory alarm fitted you will also have a switch to disable the ultrasonics. Mine is on the far left.

Thanks guys, yes, I think mine has got that switch to disable the ultrasonics. I wonder if I'm missing the headlight dipper dial then. Has anyone got a pic?
If anyone has if you can't post it on here could you mail me at tjatkin@ntlworld.com

It looks like everyone is different! There is a good picture in the Titanic gallery here (not my car) www.titanic.co.uk/cgi-bin/galleryimage.py?intReqPict=3491&intReqGall=2

My car is different as the switch for the ultrasonics is on the far left (with the flashing light beneath the switch), then a blank, then door lock, wing mirrors, rear wiper, and headlight adjustment closest to driver's side.

Yes, mines the same as yours Steve, and it definitely is the roller switch on the right I'm missing. Is it something I really need? What does it actually do?

It allows you to adjust the headlamp beams in the vertical axis, so if you've got a heavy load in the back then the beam doesn't go up in the air. I think it's got positions 0/1/2 IIRC.

Oh righto, thanks for that. I'll probably just blank it then because this car will never be carrying heavy loads.
