I don't know guys. I am not entirely convinced. The BMW M5 has a pretty premium looking interior and the F12 M6 is a big step up from that too.

I'm not here extoling the virtues of BMW M cars but if you're paying £50,000+ for a Panamera over an M5/M6 I would want it to feel much much much more premium for the money.

Epic car though and a lovely looking thing in the right colour combo.

That is distinctly odd, 918 Spyder a bit drab for you? smile

The F12 M6 is good I know but I do think the Panamera is a step up again, and thats not me being a fan boy.

A Panamera is leagues ahead of an M5, you can't even compare them.

Qu someone posting a video of an M5 beating a Turbo down a runway, as if its some daily occurrence.
I can post a vid of me in my Pan Turbo spanking the pants off a modified f10 M5 at Bruntingthorpe though, if you like ;-)
And a 991 GT3..

Drab and then some plus... smile Pendulous qualities and lack of doors render it both undesirable and unsuitable.. thumbup

One day everyone should have a Panamera ... wink

Yeh yeh, all really impressed on the pan turbo, but we are talking Panameras in general.
Just looking at them on here for sale, 192 at the moment, with 102 being diesel and three hyrids. Only 32 turbos.
Who in the real world needs a turbo to cover all bases, i.e run the kids to school, go to work in and trips out of town?
As the figures bear out the diesels are most popular and I for one dont want to be running a 16 mpg car every day!
If you have the bunce, you have a 911 turbo/ gt3 in the garage, a Rangie/ Cayenne for the weekend shoot and a pan for everyday.
It was the diesel I looked at, and judged it as a great driver, but not as quick well built or good value as a year old A8.

I have driven them and and a GTS for a week or two. I remain in the camp that considers them to be very ugly cars. ( I have a Cayenne in the garage which is also on the homely side). Still, at least an SUV will alway be some kind of box. At the price point I would like to see a car with a better body design. Certainly a great drive, but needs more style. I recall even their CEO promising a better looking car.

I don't generally buy saloons at any price, but if I had to do so it would probably be an AMG Benz or an M5.

Benz and Beemer 3box saloons all look a bit bland to me whatever engine is in them. At the end of the day, there are a billion variation on the three box shape out there. The Panamera is unique and individual with a bit of executive jet slinky cool road presence about it. But it's all subjective of course. Some people are more conservative aesthetically than others. Looks like as usual, the market completely ignored the old school mag journos and Top Gear schoolboys and it's been a huge success.

Precisely. The buyers did that and the old school journos and TG schoolboys have had a few whoosh parrot moments... Here comes another :~

To my old eyes, those I have seen on the roads or parked up have enormous presence. They are quite a large car even when seen alongside the increasing number of suedo-SUVs and people carriers which many have reached Monster Truck proportions.

Like the original Cayenne, I think the Panamera will become a much improved car, and much more desirable, with its second generation design - due, I believe in 2016/17.

Hopefully it will shed its slightly 'ugly duckling' styling and look a bit more compact. And, the Panamera Tourer would be a big success if Porsche ever built it

Would have considered on if it was not for the Audi A8.
Big family bus, looks good in black with the 20 inch wheels and led lights, and with the 4.2 tdi v8 it out trumps the v6 in the Panamera.
Plus I let someone pay £82k for mine before I snapped it up 14 months old from Audi approved for £35k!
No brainer, even if I look like an accountant in it!
Jesus! That is the heaviest depreciation I have ever heard of!
Indeed! Had a look and how is it possible that a you can get hold of a 2-3yrs old sub 40k miles A8 for 25k ?!? That's just insane value for money if you want a cross continental cruiser...
