Best example I have come across - 996 C4 needed new wiper blades
OPC quoted £96 for front and rear, ie 3 blades

A visit to my local auto parts shop ended with some nice quality replacement blades for £16

So I had to fit them myself, not exactly difficult and a saving of £80

£330 for a MK1 Focus RS water pump as apposed to £24 for a normal Focus, £500 for a wishbone!

The list goes on and on.

Ordered a screw for 911 front scuttle, cost 13 pence. Parts guy said the cheapest thing he has ever sold, felt embarrassed so gave it to me for free. Must be a first!

GT3 ARB towers for the damper bodies. Over £100 from Porsche, £35 direct from Bilstein complete with Pirsche part No and the little P in the triangle !

As others have mentioned, I too got my starter returned for £50 with a 2yr warranty

Ah but did you get the correct curved blade for the passenger side? These are about £12 ea from bosch alone. Still a saving on Porsche prices!

How about Porsche batteries being awful and costing loads more than the best Bosch or Varta?

My 911 runs a Bosch maf (that has a blank space for the Porsche part number stamp), TRW suspension arms (with the Porsche part number ground off), Rock auto supplied engine mounts (with original Porsche part number sticker!) all supplied at much less than a quarter the price Porsche quoted.

All of those parts perform much better than the knackered ones they replaced.

The correct longer bolts for the 996 child seat/airbag bar are actually the flywheel bolts from an earlier model, 993 I think, cost around £18 for two.
