Oh my, don't start me on the rear braking thing. A major gripe with my 997 GT3. The diff is made of chocolate and is basically written off after you've reversed it a few times in the garage. From then on, enter the back up electronic system via the rear brakes.... I HATE IT!!
Thankfully there are some decent diff replacement kits out there. JZM do a particularly good one.
out of interest, what do you find about the rear braking that the car behaves diffferently and worse than with a (working) diff? Is there such a change in the dynamic behaviour of the car with one vs the other or is it more that with the rear braking the system becomes active rather than passive as the car electronics decide how/when the brakes are applied rather than a mechanical system with the diff (or at least that is so with the prior gen fixed ratio locking diffs).Thankfully there are some decent diff replacement kits out there. When trying to trim the car on the brakes - on a trail say - one of the rears may already be on via the ABD. The effect of the drivers brake application in that circumstance nat be dynamically different than he anticipated. APOLO1 said:

Can you imagine what the journos reaction would be if you threw a sorted air cooled into the 2015 EVO group test?
such a car has never been produced........2.7 RS, 3.2 clubsport, 964 RS, 993 RS amongst a whole host of standard air cooled cars running trick bits which are even more effective than the old RS cars due to newer suspension and damper tech....

Why would that be at all relevant for their ECOTY test?Clue is in the name of the test

Just an observation old chap. I think the journos would swoon with something like a Singer (new car in my book) having just seen David just slay Goliath
So they should though, a new Singer is £500k+ landed in the UKIf we reduce all tests to our favourite old cars there wouldnt be much new to read
Don't get me wrong, I like the old cobweb cars!

Agree but you do not have to spend £500k. The car above was produced by DP motorsport. Weighs less than a tonne and has approaching 300hp. Was available for £60k for 6 months in classifieds and is virtually a new car. This would be in my fantasy ecoty

Pre impact bumpers and without the stickers would do it for mehttp://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/news/g3954/ph...
